It's a money grab the first time just like it would be for the second. What you think he meant when he said "New business model"? That nigga knows that he can get paid now... this ain't gonna be the last time we see this shit. As loudly as money talks in the business them rappers, and worst yet the labels, know that they can squeeze more money out of us and their artist now.

Fuck that, I'll glady start downloading my shit if this becomes the norm.

Real talk, what he's asking for is collectors edition money. That post about instrumentals, personal letters, and etc. was a GOAT list of what should be included when asking for that kind of price. If Nipsey was offering that, then I'd understand. This ain't the lost unreleased fully CDQ remastered archives of 32 Bone Thugs E99 era pre Eazy E death songs type of deal.

This nigga just dropping a mixtape. But if he's worth that kind of money to y'all go ahead. But I think y'all getting took. I'm all for taking the art back from the labels, but I can't agree that this new business model of his is the way. Flat out, the music ain't worth it.

Who aspires to be a "starving artist"? In your eyes, whose music IS worth it?

Let's be honest here. There are people who WILL pay for a product they value and there are those who WON'T!!!

Bro you ever heard of something called 'saturation'? supply and demand?

TRUST ME.... If Major labels THOUGHT they could charge $1,000 or $100 for every CD they ever dropped, THEY WOULD.

The thing is, people know these things are mass produced, so no way they can charge that price and have people pay for it.... THEY CANT EVEN CHARGE $15 AND HAVE PEOPLE PAY FOR IT NOW *lol*

This is NOT going to be the wave of the future... just trust me on that.

And he's giving his fans an option of either buying the album to support him, or download for free... So its not forced.

NO ONE is going to continually drop $100 on this nigga albums, lmao... Thats where you can say he's lacking a little bit in the intelligence department... Just trust me on that.. it's not happening..

As far as I was concerned, this was somewhat of a "collectors edition" since he CLAIMED to be selling only 1,000 of them (yea right) and he claim to be packaging tickets inside or whatever other shit.

Bro, this nigga independent... He cant afford to hire a manufactoring company to create a hard case with the velvet on the inside, posters, lyric booklets and all that good shit.

This nigga Nipsey is basically a Native American... He created an idea, that other people are going to steal and do 10x better... Same way Jay-Z KNEW people would bite his "partnering with cell carriers" idea..

But this the thing bro... With the Jay situation, and the Nipsey situation.. EVERYBODY can't just do this...

With the mobile phone partnerships, you have to be HUGE for that to even work / make sense for the phone companies... a select few: Jay-Z, Beiber, Eminem, Beyonce, Lady Gaga etc etc.... GUCCI MANE can't get a dime like that... neither can a lot of other people.

As far as Nipsey situation, with this, you have to have been in the game a while and have DIE HARD fans.... Like, Waka Flocka can't do that... But gucci can.... You have to have fans that are emotionally attached to you... From what I heard, Nipsey Hussle is a "legend" (i see people saying that shit all the time... Alley boy twitter, people on his timeline.. I even googled "nipsey hussle legend" to see.. didn't find shit)... But anyway... Point is, nigga obviously been around a while and has a legion of DIE HARD fans.... Maybe he's the Gucci Mane of the West... I don't know, cus I dont know the nigga..

But the point is, EVERYBODY can't do this either... Gotta be someone who's been around 5+ years and has stans that ride or die for em...

I know this shit is long as hell, but I respect a good conversation piece... This shit is not the end of the world bro.. This nigga Nipsey hit a little lick, and he will allow other rappers to exploit this in some ways.

EVERYBODY can't do it... because NOBODY is going to pay $2,000 a year in CD's (if they buy 20 CDs)... If niggas not payiing for $15, what make you think they gonna pay $100?? lmao...

This was a marketing gimmick that worked for hiim, will allow some others to tweak it to their favor, and he will never see this much success doing it again...

If he dropped another album for $100, I'd be suprised if it sold 100 legitimate copies (without motherfuckers buying it in bulk)...

He's just sadly mistaking if he thinks he's going to make a career off this.

Nipsey just put himself in another league as far as independence goes. Low costs, bigger profit. Best believe music execs got their eyes on Nipsey's hustle as we speak. This is what independence is about...Risks. He became his own boss. Now he's just gotta' keep the ball rollin'. Proper.

This shit is ass backwards on so many levels. LOL at "revolution" meaning to attack the pockets of the fans. Them niggas buying that shit ain't done nothing special, they just kept his lights on. Nigga bragging bout Jay Z donating to 10k.

I'd be more impressed by Jay Z signing that nigga with a good contract that makes him a millionaire.

I bet you the type to complain about the radio and current music and then don't buy records.

The cds comes with a ticket which is prolly more than a 100 dollar value

Nigga I've paid for all of my music unlike most people, kill that noise. Amazon cloud player stay full.

And even if the shit comes with a ticket, I've never paid for a concert ticket that was $100 in value. That shit better be vip, front row shit, with a back stage pass.

This nigga doing too much. Punishing consumers for some bullshit his co-workers and their bosses control. Niggas complain bout the price of gas but wanna let this shit slide, I don't get it.

Punishing fans? Fans are the ones pirating music

Niggas always need everything spelled out for them. He just changed hiphop in one day, if these rappers have any bit of the hustle they claim. He said from the start if you dont or cant pay then go to datpiff. But he just showed you can cater to your core core group of fans specifically and eliminate the need for a middleman. Along with the physical cd he gave away the extras that these 360 deals try to stick their hands in

Yea he is like a less talented version of Ab-soul. Why would he do that wish things they way they are. He should sell the first 50 for a dollar.

If the shit was a buck then id be knocking somebody down to get it, but a C-Note? Pshhh This nigga dunt bumped his head.
