this will bring in lots of revenue esp with the ratings going up from last season (thats if it stays up). Im not feeling this move though.

side note: I think at some point these leagues should institute time limits on how long commissioners can be in office. This dude been the commish before i was born, they need to put him out to pasture.

So how are they going to work out the conflict of advertisers. Who makes the jersey vs. who wants there advertisement on them vs. the players endorsement deals.

I havent read the article yet. I hope it goes into that.

The article makes it sound as if the manufacturer gets a cut.

the cost of a company putting its logo on a jersey will be passed along to the consumer.

that's easy. don't buy the jersey. Plus they would just charge whatever advertiser it is that extra cost. It's their advertising patch. does seem stupid to put the patch on retail versions though. but if ppl don't buy them with the patch then they will take them off.

Whats the big deal? This will make the players more money...and in about 3 years nobody will give a shit about the "cheesy" factor it will just be normal. Just like in soccer.

What if that means buying a jersey that has a papa johns logo on it? The article says they will be sold in retail that way if I'm not mistaken.

its not about buying or not buying anything. shit if AT&T dishes out millions to have their logo seen, then best believer AT&T customers are gonna see that $2.71 Entertainment Surcharge on every bill. don't matter how many jerseys get sold. of course you can drop them or whatever, but thats not really the point.

Yeah and?

Niggas is signing $100+ million dollar contracts outchea. Where you think that money is going to come from? Every successful business either grows or dies. Players are make more money now than they ever have. It wasnt a big deal for billionaire owners to spend wads and wads of cash when it was $50+ Million contracts...now its starting to hurt a little.

As a consumer you can choose to voice your displeasure by not buying the Jersey. If enough people do that, it will force them to scrap the idea. That is your recourse as a consumer....but these niggas are going to try and get as much money out of you as possible.

lol

as if people today have an issue with wearing clothes with company names or logos on them.

bet if they put a big ass horse on the chest yall'd buy that up

then don't buy it.

jersey's going to be looking like NASCAR cars and jackets

next thing you know, they'll make long sleeve jerseys just to get more ads on them to turn an extra buck. Then teams will be playing in full sweats when it's all said and done.

Ads on the courts, ball, and on the backboard.

the compression sleeves and headbands going to have ads on them..lebron going to have a rogaine add on his headband

Two things.

Im not down for this because itll make jerseys ugly as fuck and cluttered.

But i like it for the reason that every single team can get an extra 100 mil a yr from the ads which could lead to higher payroll, salary cap, salaries for the players, arenas and etc.

it wont stop there....the logos will get bigger.....

and once NFL sees that the nba makng money of it.....watch it spread to the nfl......

NFL doesnt need to worry about that all 32 teams made the Forbes list. NFL is doing good financially

NBA had only 2 teams on the Forbes list (LAL and NYK)
