Under this administration?!?!!

The fucking coast guard.

Local pararescue with the fire dept.

Fuck the current commander in chief.

We gon be fucked for years to come no more military for me

you was in the military....

so you know how to shoot niggas?

you know i just be playing when i talk shit, right?

crazy how alot of niggas in here sounding like me.....but i got shit for it...

whatevs

anyway....

i would agree....dont join the military...trump going have the reserves on the front line and calling up old niggas to finish his fight.

i say go to fukking france. an american with an education there is like a phd..

or go to africa..

its alot of options....relocation should be one of them...save a bit of money and roll out

Damn man real shit I appreciate y'all advice but can y'all give me some more realistic opportunities instead of jumping up and just going to a whole another country? I don't have it like that right now.Canada is a place I will like to move too in the future but for now, I'm trying to achieve realistic goals and opportunities to get my proper due at the moment..

I can't take out loans right now because I'm already in student loans and my credit is not the strongest score, if I would be able to take out a loan I have no job I can currently pay that back on.

I don't wanna do the military, but outside of finding postions with competitive pay to jumpstart me back into the city of Atlanta, I'm option less. I DO NOT want to do the reserve, but nigga been bussing ass every day for the past 7 months and coming up short, but still grinding. I've been with mutiple staffing agencies, I applied for airport postions, as well as suggestions. I've made numerous updates to my resume, cover letter , and I have letter of recommendations.

My situation is not something im just doing sitting on my hands and trying to be choosey. To be as qualified as I am with valuable experience, as well as my education to just settle for working at fast food jobs and banana republic is grade A bullshit.

Anyone who invested time, resources, money, and years into anything would want to see the benefits reaped as well as getting the proper opportunity to make dividends. I'm a senior with a weighed GPA of 3.7, as well as 7+ years in administrative operations and business development.

So it's not that easy to just "go get a job" at Walmart, as I have bills and shit to pay off, as well as college loans and trying to have resources to get a car to return to the city to finish my degree and get certs.

So doing the national guard Reserve is a option that I don't wanna do, but can jumpstart me back into the fold.

So it's August, still jobless, and I'm seriously considering the National Guard Reserve. I'm probably gonna set up a interview with a recruiter soon,

Any more advice guys ? Anything to ask or look out for?

bruh I thought u said u got a girlfriend in another thread tho?

how u got time for that when u broke/jobless my nigga? :(

nah but 1 thing I would tell u if u seriously considering the military is 1 recognizing ur personality traits

a lot of people half ass with their career decisions and end up wasting a lot of precious time

the only real difference between the services is that the cultures are different..........if u a like doing manly, rugged shit, u can do it in any service u just have to pick the right job

if u just looking for employment and trying to chill behind a desk then I suggest the AF reserve is ur best shot, even tho going active duty may even be better

I would also see about becoming an officer regardless of the service u end up choosing.....enlisted folks get shit on especially in the Army/Marines......since u already got college u need to look into the requirements for coming in as an officer to avoid the bullshit

I wasn't in it. I'm going emt tho so I was considering going navy to see what other options are down that pipeline and also to force me to get outa where I live. I'm unsure what I wana do with it so I woulda rather had them pay for it while I figured it out than me....but as of now fuck that I'll get it on my own lol.

But my parents were in it and they taught me a few things @ bolded

Choosing the right job is major key

I just checked indeed.com for IT support. Carter's right off of Eagles landing was hiring for help desk work.

Also that Toys R us warehouse just got a IT update on their SAP system. So that means they are hiring for techs.

I say get on with the Air Force or Navy reserve. Pick an IT rate or MOS and you wont be on the front line. Cant smoke weed, though.

You can drill either in Marietta or Warner Robins. Get in a unit/squadron that gets deployed. Earn your GI bill in 4 years. Ride out or make it a career as a officer.

All this shit is a hustle. You do the reserve when you dont want to do the military full time. You dont get full benefits like pension retirement and free healthcare. But you get a 401k type money management and discounted healthcare. Plus the opportunity for free training.

This thread is full of info. It is time for you to shuffle through it and make a decision. Lets say you dont like your decision. You can always switch. It is not easy to do but you can.

My advice go Air Force reserve if you just want to do 4-6 years and ride out.

Go Navy if you want to do a little travel and still get some training.

Go Army reserve or National Guard if you just want to leave.

If you want to go shoot a mfer, join the Marine reserve.

If you're jobless, how do you pay rent?

Use your advantages, we all have them

Make the tough decisions(I left school as a senior and as much as I hoped to finish, that's still a option later. I was overwhelmed and needed to make sure I was good)

I moved back with folks and preparing to set out again and try it my way with a little better understanding of shit now

Also earlier in my college career, I bough my first car and paid for a semester on 8 something a hour in 5 months.

I left school for what was supposed to be a semester and failed just as I almost made it back. You might fail trying to do shit your way. We the same age and I might fail on my next venture but I'm doing what I can to prepare for it and I'm ok with it

Just my cents from a nigga the same age, faced a similar predicament, if you don't want to do the military shit, don't. Take chances, hustle....but if you do join, make sure you got a clear understanding why you doing it and outline the plan...don't get used

Also I'm not telling you to leave school as I did, just sharing my path

At any age, that's why I never knock anyone that move back to get their mind, financials & life right. It's easy when you are born in a foundation but its hard & takes time to build one. I gotta home girl that moved back & I told her "There's nothing wrong with it, as long as you have a plan set in place & moving forward then you're on the right path". A lot of us blacks doesn't come from lucrative households, so we have to build from scratch & that takes trial & error to finally get it right. Props to you for putting your pride to the side to focus on the greater good

I appreciate it brother. I decided I'm not going to do the National Guard Reserve. Spoke with a family member about that yesterday and dude told me the pros and cons (he still in it and his a honest and good dude). Dude was in my exact same situation at 25, ton of potential, trying to figure it out and trying to keep up with his potential with acting (his connection was Forrest Whitkner)

Dude got pressured to do school and make money, and did the military and missed out on his acting situation and he pretty much told me do what you love and put 100% behind that while your responsibility is low (no kids).

My fellow Caw Caw brother your advice has been taken into consideration, as in this moment I'm seriously gonna try to aim for an Delta admin position/ or the TSO job. If not I'ma grind with two part time jobs until I get a car. But I really gotta put a full battery in my passion which is my art. Posting my music on the IC will definitely not be enough, but doing what I gotta do behind the scenes, doing Studio interns and all of that shit to grind is what gonna help me. Im in fucking Atlanta, should not be no excuses. Don't wanna just give up and miss my window when I believe in my craft. Call me delusional, but this shit gonna work man.

Shit aint no cake walk. They place you in any kind of unit cause mf'ers need their internet, phones and radio.

I worked for a main and as support.

As main I controlled the WAN therefore i was always on convoys out fixing shit, fixing radios, computers and getting router vans back up.

When Cisco decided to make a safer router in 2004 i had to go to every unit and switch their routers out all across northern iraq.

Then VOIP happened.... Got trained on that, was out the office for 9 weeks.

Lots of learning, very little opprotunity to advance in rank, but the classes they put us thru...

Shit my wife learned how to splice fiber, got her own kit and everything.

Just dont fail..

Bruh that class was so hard to get in.
