When i was working fo DishNetwork i would run into Comcast cats all the time. Them mafuckas was always mad they had to do about 6 houses a day to get any real money. Meanwhile at Dishnetwork you can do 2 or 3 houses and you good lol. A few liked the job alot hated the job.

There is a high ass turnover rate in cable/internet industry cuz those jobs aint fun. But if you good at doing that job, making > $70,000 is easy and you dont need prior experience cuz they teach you how to do the shit.

But i hated that fucking job dealing with dumb ass people crying about cable. I came close to knocking the fuck out of a couple of home owners. That cable/internet work aint fo everyone though.

If youre in MIS get your SQL game on point along with some scripting (php, python, ruby) and you can start with at least 20+...In retail IT thats where the money is, location might be ur biggest obstacle

I would suggest doing whatever you can to get that degree...move to a less expensive school, take out another loan, talk with the dean on possible scholarships/grants...something...it'll be much easier for you if you have that degree under your belt.

Your other option is to get your Certs...figure out which route you wanna go in IT and then become Certified...an earlier poster mentioned SQL and scripting which is great. I would go as far as to say become certified in SQL and Oracle and sharpen your programming languages (Java, c#). You can also look into Networking...mannn if you become Cisco certified you'll be making at least 6 figures.

I'm a hour away from ATL /Georgia State with no car. My goal was to get a job and apartment within the city first before I get a car. When I move to the city I'll be straight. I get numerous job offers but them bitches far AF in Marietta and syrmna.

That's what I was alluding to in my post, that vehicle is slowing you down, you may have to cut one of your ankles off to be able to walk/limp with a car loan to move forward in life

The south is the real trap to me....no car you fucked and the first lick of trouble they wanna snatch your license and make you pay fines....cant travel can't work can't work can't pay fines

Word. I basically had a job there, but at the time I chose a postion with better pay. What's your postion there now?

Appreciate it. I'll look into the certs. Does any of them get covered by pel grants ? I don't feel too good about more loans though.

I don't know that man to give anything specific. I said what I could best tell him which to start a business with whatever skills he has. He knows what skills he has and what he can and can't do with them.

Exactly everybody situation is different so just like how shit may have worked out for you in the military don't mean it will for him and just like him trying to start his own business may or may not work out for him. Which is something already said a few posts back.

My whole point was he should TRY starting his own business and being his own boss before signing his life over to the military just to be told what to do and when to do it for whatever amount of years.
