Niggas screaming they hate Trump yet you thinking about joining his military.

I don't know if you said you hate Trump either so don't really take that part personal

Niggas tired of being broke bruh

I understand that but the military just shouldn't be an option. Thats just my opinion.

Aite , so what's a better option? You see where I'm at in my op post. If that shit is not working for me, then what's next? Keep in mind I do not want to do military at all. From my music, to school, to job security I refuse to not be shit.

Start your own shit with whatever skills you have in any area. Apply for damn near anything and while working that job work on getting the position/job you want.

Just because a person doesn't have a job doesn't mean they ain't shit. The ain't shit part comes in when the person stops trying.

U need money to start his shit. We black w hite folk with family money can just strat they own shit. I'd say join any of those reserves with a 7 year plan. Join rotc. Get that rank all the college stuff paid for so he ain't got no debt. Get what ever degree or security clearance and dip when it's time to reenlist... or just do that 20 years and dip. It's just the reserves... dem benefits for his fam are worth it.

That shit is excuses my nigga.

no it isnt.. lets say homie is betwen 17 and 24 years old. Did u have 10-40 k just in ur bank account to risk on stgarting ur own shit? if u did u were blesed and are the exception not the rule homie. It takes money to make money

Nigga tell that 10-40k to start a business boo boo the fool ass shit to someone who don't know any better.

I got 2 people who both started their businesses with less than $500. One is an electrician and the other does parties for adults and kids.

It does take money to make money but it don't take no damn minimum of 10k to start a business.

All I'm saying homie is if u gonna give that man advice give him specifics and help vs that vague oh go start a business bullshit. It ain't that simple and everyone's situation is different and being condescending isn't helping him

I don't know that man to give anything specific. I said what I could best tell him which to start a business with whatever skills he has. He knows what skills he has and what he can and can't do with them.

Exactly everybody situation is different so just like how shit may have worked out for you in the military don't mean it will for him and just like him trying to start his own business may or may not work out for him. Which is something already said a few posts back.

My whole point was he should TRY starting his own business and being his own boss before signing his life over to the military just to be told what to do and when to do it for whatever amount of years.

Show proof of me saying anything condescending to him or anybody else in this thread. That shit is just you feeling a way about what I'm saying cause you disagree with what I'm saying.

For sho. It coulda been how I read the first post. I kinda came off like u was saying just go start ur own shit dummies lol... I don't disagree with ur premise. It's just that young folk don't know how to do it. It's up to us older heads to teach em. It's all good

Try Comcast, we big in ATL. Free cable/internet/phone. Great benefits. They give you a truck, to drive to work and back home. 401k matched 100% up to 6%. Been there 12 years, since I was 20. Started off at $11/hr, pulled over $90k last year. They got service tech positions open in Marietta, Flintstone, Roswell, they sales shit be popping too.

Word. I basically had a job there, but at the time I chose a postion with better pay. What's your postion there now?

I'm a network line technician. I just work outside, I do about 1-2 jobs a day.

You're in ATL right? Apply to the airport. We're hiring ramp, gate, and ticketing agents. Get your degree then parlay that into a job in corporate. There's a few corporate jobs now, apply. When I say the airport, I'm talmbout apply to either Delta or Southwest.

I'm on it. You have any one I can use an reference ? You know how it goes in ATL, gotta have references or know someone.

Go through air force, you'll get a Degree instead of a cert or credits. Some stuff in the army is not recognized when you get out. Also unless you get hurt on drill you will not be able to use the VA Hospital when you get out because you have not been deployed to a war zone or had 24 mos Active Duty. If your able too, do Active Duty first then finish in reserves that way you get full access. Also keep a copy of any medical paperwork for when you get out. Good Luck!

So it's August, still jobless, and I'm seriously considering the National Guard Reserve. I'm probably gonna set up a interview with a recruiter soon,

Any more advice guys ? Anything to ask or look out for?

Applied for an Administrative Assistant position, TSO officer position.

If you're jobless, how do you pay rent?

Use your advantages, we all have them

Make the tough decisions(I left school as a senior and as much as I hoped to finish, that's still a option later. I was overwhelmed and needed to make sure I was good)

I moved back with folks and preparing to set out again and try it my way with a little better understanding of shit now

Also earlier in my college career, I bough my first car and paid for a semester on 8 something a hour in 5 months.

I left school for what was supposed to be a semester and failed just as I almost made it back. You might fail trying to do shit your way. We the same age and I might fail on my next venture but I'm doing what I can to prepare for it and I'm ok with it

Just my cents from a nigga the same age, faced a similar predicament, if you don't want to do the military shit, don't. Take chances, hustle....but if you do join, make sure you got a clear understanding why you doing it and outline the plan...don't get used

Also I'm not telling you to leave school as I did, just sharing my path

Currently staying with family, I left school because I couldn't afford it. Husting part is hard because I don't have a car and I live in a city that doesnt have shit. So it's tricky
