Really Watch the Throne? Production is there, but even Kanye outshines Jay-z on almost all the songs,Lyrically its no where near Liife is good,The Hunger that Shawn carter had is gone, only joints i rock with is Gotta have it, new day, otis, and Murder to excellence. Primetime and The Joy are bonus tracks. basically a dissapointment. But I do agree the genre is very weak.

Specifically name the songs where kanye outshined jigga

kanye sucked on every song except murder to excellence,no church, made in america and new day

Jigga was featured solo on why I love you, welcome to the jungle and who gon stop me

and he bodied kanye on primetime, thats my bitch, ham and illest mf alive

lol His flows on the album maybe his weakest though, that like praising a veteran who gets a ring but gets no playing time. Nas at least still sounds like his flow is still attacking the mic, Jay just sounds bored.not taking anything from his greatest but Jay hasnt impressed me since american gangster, with any of his verses besides jay electronica's shiny suit theory

Yo anyone think Nas is subliminally dissing Jay by mentioning how he still looks 20 a bunch of times on this album? Everyone knows Jay is insecure about his looks and looks 55 even though hes 45?

Jay>>>Kanye on WTT jay still can bring the heat. When Ross and jay electronica drop well see what jay got since they both said jay went in on there albums. I might be wrong about jay electronica tho

this some gay ass shit

I stay Firm on my position, Jay presented no Shock value lyrically on Welcome to the jungle. No Hip Hop quotables on any of the songs from him, except Primetime. Kanye Outshined him plain and simple. I bought it for Kanye, kanye has a better verse on Primetime though.Crazy to think otherwise. But This is a Nas Thread

Life is Good is better Than Watch The Throne, bet half the cats in the thread would agree.

Yeah, Primetime, Beat by Dion, Our third eon

That's what the fuck we on

Mo' money, 40 year old phenom

Our 15 minutes of fame has stretched beyond

At 42 be better than 24, I carried the 4-5, mastered 48 laws

Still wearing my 23's they can't fuck with the boy

As far as them 16's, I'm 23 of it all

Primetime, riding that 6 deuce

That 9-11 I only subtract the roof

Started in 88', Got warm in 92', I landed in 96'

That's the year I came through

I hit the club, ordered some Grey Goose

Switched it for Ciroc to give Puff's stock a boost

New money, I found the fountain of youth

I'm headed to Miami to fuck up the Fontaine Bleu

A case of Ace, make it 2, Nigga we rolling, beat the deuce

The night is young, what the fuck we gon' do (ooh)

[Kanye West:]

Primetime, basking in the lime

Cassius in his prime, Coloring out of the line

Cause they don't want nobody that's colored out of the lines

So I'm late as a motherfucker, colored people time

Damn Yeezy, they all gotta be dimes?

Well, Adam gave up a rib so mine better be prime

Niggas gon kill me, I swear they better be lying

I never live in fear, I'm too out of my mind

Primetime, never hit these heights

I mean it's like, it's like our first 1st class flight

I'm trippin' on it, socks on marble floors

I'm slippin' on it, Champagne, I'm sippin' on it

Shit taste different, don't it?

You know what, you right

It's like the best damn champagne I had in my life

"When you coming home" That's a text from my wife

I told her, run a bubble bath

And float in that motherfucker like a hovercraft

And soak in that motherfucker til I call you back

I mean who says shit like that, and doesn't laugh

Kanye verse sucked ,I cant take your opinion serious jigga zoned on this song

Good discussion tho, at least u can contain your emotions unlike these other lames

thats because too many cats look at lyricism and go ....

punchlines>

......kanye did nothing to outshine jay on wtt........ and LIG is in no way a better more cohesive record the WTT.... smh

I skip more records on wtt than LIG, and can actually play LIG all the way through if need be. I yawn at songs like why i love you, welcome to the jungle, Lift off is horrible and Niggas in paris is special only for the beat neither did great on that record. every Nas song on LIG at least keeps my attention imo

You know how these niggas operate around these parts....if you're not praising Nasir's name you're either

1. a Gucci Mane fan

2. you don't know shit about real hip hop

3. you're a hater

and my favorite one

4. that shit went over your head LMAO!

Lmao yup ,yamoley called it

yeah ...oh boy called that shit spot on ....i could have swore the Thread Title was .... LIG discussion? ...which i think would mean .... the exchange of views on this latest nas joint? ...shit aint nothing but good hiphop discussion .... theres 100 nas appreciation threads .... niggas can cape in those ... shit aint gotta be polarizing and overly extreme if your views dont mesh.........

LIG>>>>>WTT

Smh @ some of you niggas going out of your way to come in this thread and say lift off, that's my bitch, welcome to the jungle, and why i love you are better than this album.

when did welcome to the jungle and why i love you become wack songs? .... i mean i can understand questioning lift off and thats my bitch ...but those first two? damn...

Who? I see 3 posters dropped the N-word on this page. 2 have been posting for a while (cole and jd) the other one (YoungChamp) only said it when referring to the song title.
