NAS HAS HAD THE BEST CAREER OF ANY RAPPER (PROOF INSIDE)

GOAT thread of the Month... The topic should be stickied on the boards for all to read LoL...

Seriously, outside of maybe Jay or Scarface to a small minority, nobody's catalog is even fucking close, and when it comes to the diversity in topics and themes, no one else is in the same fucking universe- this is what non-fans don't seem to understand about Nas...

Illmatic, It Was Written, Stillmatic, God's Son, Streets Disciple, Hip Hop Is Dead, NIGGER, and Distant Relatives all have very DISTINCT feels to them and touch on so many topics, especially dealing with BLACK PEOPLE. No other rapper has given such a voice to the people (not just Black) as Nas.

In ten years, after this new generation GROWS the FUCK UP and realizes they've been fed bullshit by the mainstream this past decade, you will see Nas' music stand the test of time and still be relevant to the point where he will gain a new generation of fans that weren't even listening to him when he was actually out and active that now wish he was still around...

And who knows... Maybe he will be...

Can't sleep on Ghostface catalog either.

That collab album with Damien Marley was ambitious because you know albums like that don't sell but it was a good look for the culture.

@GEE yeah them clowns got some bad Voodoo on em, they been on a losing streak since 2009, I guess they should have never gone against Nas.

The don of all don’s since you wanna call me something

All of a sudden, niggas ball and stuntin’

Ya’ll just started pulling arms

Pull ya card, ya spineless

Where ya heart, I know where mine is

A don is one who accept things he cannot change

Only thing I accept I cannot change is getting old and dying

Gold medallion, over my son chest

He’ll hold it down when I sunset

What does death mean to me?

I never owned the concept, I was here

I’m just a spirit, lets get one thing clear

Everything segue’s into each other

One thing is just an extension of the other

My kid to me, I am my children through history

Of Stand up men and stand up women

I am existing I was conceived to break bread with kings

And make connections

We haven’t met yet

My reputation you’ve stuck with

Until we have our formal introduction

That’s enough

But every male is not a man

So some of those that will hold out they hand wont understand

This thing of ours

NAS..

LIFE IS GOOD..

Damn, I hadn't heard this track yet... DAMN NAS... GOAT status...

Doggy I was just in class reciting that verse in my head over and over again planning on posting it in this thread when I got home but you did it for me. It shouldn't take a rapper dying for us to appreciate him. Words can't describe how much he means to the rap game.

Life is good.

From an artistic standpoint Jay's career was moreso based on what was hot at the time rather than making timeless creative material. Don't get me wrong, he has had a good career but when he looks back I feel like he will be more proud of his accomplishments and accolades than the actual material itself.

I swear a lotta yall musta been running straight into a neuralyzer around 01 cause the IC stays actin as if 1996-2001 never happened.

Let the wacks and nosigns rain

I doubt you get the Reactions and attention you desire, most people just gonna ignore the reactions and deny you the thrill and sensation.

Read the OP before posting in my thread. I'm talking about best career from a musical perspective.

The versatility of Marvin Gaye's catalog is part of what made him great.

Nas has a got a Top 5 career for sure... I'd probably put him at #1 if he had a couple more classics. Life Is Good sounds like its going to be a classic tho, so that might make his case even better.
