The man had an entire stadium in Africa chanting "Ali Bomaye! Ali Bomaye!" and that wasn't even close to his greatest achievement.

I wouldn't say its not sad to see him go, but he accomplished so much and lived such a life, you're happy to just know there are human beings like him on earth. You're so sad, you almost feel happy in weird way, because you know the impact he had on the planet was so powerful in a positive way.

I watched some of his old fights on ESPN Classic today, and I know he may have taken things too far with Joe Frazier when it came to talking shit, but their third fight was an absolute WAR. Incredible fight. And these are guys that did this all, unquestionably, without PEDs.

So true. He had Parksons at a young age and still managed to stay relevant and influential for more than 3 decades. He lived his life to the fullest. If you think about it, It's kinda selfish of us to want him to stay. It's time for him to rest.

Man this my very first post in this thread... wanted to lay back and lurk/chill but being an African, Ali's sojourn in Africa in the 70's was unprecedented for even a Black American (who got rid of his slave name and bore a native one) .. the irony of it all can hardly be comprehended and I don't think any other Black American will receive that same adulation and worship in an African state

The adulation he got alone not even Foreman who was a favourite for that fight received from the Congolese

Ali was KING
