Mr. Porter fired shots at Lupe

i see both sides of it

in an industry where you have a guy like Bangladesh who has hits under his belt, make several beats for Lil Wayne, who has a huge following, only to not be paid for the beat, as a producer...kinda makes you look at artists differently

OTOH, as a respected emcee like lupe, you are trying to maybe capture the perfect score to your lyrics, and sometimes producers do overcharge leaving you to go with lesser known guys who might not be as well versed in beat making, thus compromising your intended sound

in a perfect world, the artist and the producer should co-exist financially and from a sonic perspective.

The problem is now, with this new wave of artists, most people remember the beat over lyrics.

Artist need to go back to how it used to be. Build a team....Yo day 1 niggaz(3 or 4 producers with their own sound). Quit bouncing from hot producer to hot producer like a stripper looking for a lap dance.

Miss the days when an album was produced by mainly one producer. Few random producers but there was one who would do 9/14 tracks and give the album a certain feel.

Nigga needs to let Soundtrakk be his main producer and call it a day. Iono why this nigga had to go on Twitter to air out his grievances either. Just don't fuck wit the dude. Simple solution that doesn't involve another round of disparaging social media insults.

We tired of that dumb shit.

Thats been my similar view... Ive said for years that the best albums of all time have 1 maybe 2 or 3 producers, which makes for a real album sound, not a mixtape/compilation sound... Im fed up with listening to albums with 16 tracks and like 10 different producers with who ever is popular at the time... In fact its got to be alot cheeper to have a couple producers lace you with the beats for your album...

of course, this phrasing makes it sound like that overpriced beat might not have been as overpriced as the artist thought...

Right? Emcee needs great producer, doesn't wanna pay great money.

Producers could argue that no one buys acapellas and people do buy instrumental albums. Who plays acapellas all day?

you mean that bullshit "mixtape" where he attempts to sing in his god awful voice over his mediocre as fuck beats?

Says the Kendrick fan, kinda ironic... You know he made beats for him too right???

'So pardon me (pardon me)

Cuz' a part of me (part of me)

Don’t believe in the american dream

It’s all a scheme (all a scheme)

They tell me I can be what I desire

Yet only offer opportunities that pay no hire, that’s 7.40 an hour'

'So when I get up on the stage in heaven

I'm hoping that god be in the front row

Even though he wrote every word i'm saying

I hope that he humors me like he don’t know

Hope i'm in his grace when its my time to go

I hope he’s satisfied and I sure hope

He got his money’s worth and he close my show

All I want from him is a standing o (ovation)'

Lmao, why compare Kendrick Lamar to mr. porter because of the voice? mr. porter cant rap nor sing, he's an ok producer when he doesnt feature his own vocals on the beat but thats it, he has produced for half of the rap game but nobody gives a shit about his album, do you wonder why?
