Mortal Kombat 9 has the best story mode in any fighting game to me.

I think Injustice had it beat, but only because im a bigger fan of the DC properties. But yeah, if it hadnt been for MK, we wouldve never gotten such a great Injustice story.

WWF No Mercy was dope too. The story changed depending on whether you won or lost and there would be interferences in your matches based on your beefs. The storymode was more dynamic.

Tekken 4 was good as far as Tekkens go on a whole. It had a far more serious tone and kept things far more grounded. The developers just said 'fuck it' by 5 and the story just went fruit-bat shit crazy and completely OTT... just like the gameplay.

Yo FFNY was fuckin' dope, but Soul Calibur 2 on Dreamcast is the beat fighter I've ever played. And the intro to Soul Blade is a top 3 intro of all time

Bruh I'm sittin here watchin this shit like a damn movie...

Story was cool...only gripe was it switches character alot and some of them i didnt know how to use. Messed up the immersion for me cause I had to pause to check movelist

If street fighter did something like this then that would be great since majority of characters share same button commands

Yeah MK9 and Injustice have the best story presentation wise.

I say presentation because the Blaz Blue series have good stories but it isn't presented as well. It's cutscenes are loads of text with voice acting and still shots. If they were animated out like MK9, it would easily compete with MK and Injustice for the top spot.

Same goes for Persona 4 Arena but it was made by the same developer as Blaz Blue.
