As for staying in America and acquiring land here for whatever purpose; I don't think it's a good idea. I've always felt this way. I know what the ancestors went through as slaves here. I know even my "free" family members gave their lives here. However, the fact remains that this land belongs to the Native Americans. It's not our place to take a piece of it just because. They deserve their homeland and we deserve ours.

i think its ok to go back to africa to help build or to do what you feel. but do not think it will be easier because of the skin color. you still have to work hard to make moves.

so if the civil rights movement gave us the power we was seeking...would you still leave?

if the police was in check would you still leave?

thing is we will have a hard time no matter where we go.

in white countries we are black

in african countries we are americans .

shit like i said earlier..... alot of africans are trying to come to america for the opportunity.

hearing shit like this, i see why alot of my african brothers call us lazy. they come here an become doctors, take advantage of education and so much more.

The interesting thing about this post is that you brought up the civil rights movement. We're still fighting for the same things the civil rights movement fought for 50 to 60 years ago. Black people in America are in a state of arrested development. The only way to move up is to leave. We've been mind-fucked for over 400 years and we've discarded so much of ourselves culturally for them that we have almost nothing left, and they still treat you the same. They still aren't satisfied.

I don't need any info on Africa, I've studied it. I've made friends with Africans at my job, and we talk often. Above all of that: I'm one of the few people on this forum and in my circle of friends who have gone to Africa and seen it first hand. I'm not afraid of work. I don't want to go for me, I want to go for our future. But like I already posted, this plan will separate the real from the fake.

I don't want power, I want peace for my progeny.

Dope. I'm definitely looking to travel to Ghana next year. What countries did you visited?

So far Tanzania. I'm going to Senegal in the next few months though. Then I'm going on an excursion to southern Africa later next year, or early 2017.

One other thing: People keep talking about how Africans don't like or respect us which is a misunderstanding to say the least. The problem with many black people here is that they have no knowledge of Africa at all. I know people from Togo, Senegal, Kenya, Cote d'Ivoire, etc. I can name many of the tribes there and I can tell you who colonized those areas.

When I was younger I used to ask random black people to name 5 countries in Africa, and most of them couldn't name one. How can they relate to people so ignorant of their origins? How would talking to such people benefit them? It's funny how people will complain about the attitudes of Africans but still give money to Asian businesses that treat you like dangerous thugs & ignorant hooligans. You can easily start a convo with someone from Africa by asking where they're from. But too many act like that's too hard.

Many are too Europeanized, and that's why we are so ignorant. Study the European "age of discovery," the colonial age, see how they never tried to understand any of the people they came in contact with. They didn't try to learn the language, or the culture; they didn't try to empathize with those they slaughtered either. so many of you act just like them.

i been to tanzania as well. only for a day or so visiting on my way to zanzibar fora wedding some years back.

i spoke on it before on here. but the people was treating white people like Gods while trying to shit on us until they realized we were american, then we were treated like royalty.

but if you take the time to understand what i am saying....we are actually saying the same thing, we just want to get on done two different ways and on two different sides of the ocean. why do we have to limit ourselves to africa. we can build in both. just like everyone else does.

investing in africa...yep already did and done,

building with africans, yep already did and done,

fleeing america...i wont do.

relocating for opportunity....did and done

fleeing because i will feel safer, again thats a mind frame.

the hood treated me way worse than others. and they are "my" people.

For people who want to pull a Sincere and "Move to Africa". What the hell will you do when you get there? And what cities are you looking at?

Start a shipping port business and help transportation and to bridge throughout the continent and diaspora.

I want to start in Accra, Ghana.

I tried that with a guy in beijing....it wasnt my thing. i think i was just too focused on unimportant things at the time. but i would love to try it again.

What's crazy is that literally evey other people on earth see the value in investing in Africa and even living in Africa except Blackpeople.

If you go without a plan, expect to get fucked. If you go with proper planning then you should be just as successful, if not more so than other groups who've gone over on some fuck shit

there is a huge difference in investing and raping.

those groups understand the culture and dont mind giving them pennies and have the power to lock shit down.

would you really go and pay the people pennies for their hard work?

thats the only way others "seem" so successful. because of their profit margins.

the political structure also needs to be overhauled. to not allow those other groups in so easy.

shit is not as easy as some of yall making it out to be

Many black people in this country act just as afraid of black people as white people. It's common to encounter the belief among black people that black people are inherently more dangerous. People in the hood know who the bad apples are but they are too afraid to talk to them or push them out of the neighborhoods. Even if they don't want to do that black people are too afraid to just approach these guys and tell them some facts about their culture/history to inspire them to go legit. I'm not saying they will, just saying that it's common to not even make the attempt.

This applies to many black people of all ideologies. Christians will knock on your door to tell you you need Jesus, but they won't walk up to the drug dealers, or at risk kids, and tell them anything. That's why I admired Malcolm so much, because he wasn't afraid to go to the people in the streets no matter how popular he got. He stayed in Harlem. Going to Africa is the same thing. Everybody thinks they are going to be a victim. They don't realize that Spain is just as dangerous problem as Senegal, but N-words will fly to racist ass Madrid any day of the week. People pick-pocket in Ghana just as much as they do Paris, but I see so many of my people taking selfies in front of La Tour Eiffel, but not Black Star Square.

Going to Africa (en Masse) is not a new idea, in fact it's the oldest idea for Black Liberation in this country. Ever since the Abolitionist movement there have been plans to go back to Africa going back centuries. Garvey talked about this around 100 years ago. Companies like De Beers, Chevron, Arcelor Mittal are there right now taking all the wealth out the ground right now making Billions of dollars off of that. But it's easier to do nothing. I guess if we keep asking for plate they will finally let us eat at the table with them... one day.

Some people feel that the people on the corner are lost causes and they won't listen to what they say anyway. But that is far from the truth. Some of them want somebody to talk to them, but for some of us we just haven given up on them.

The privatization of prisons really changed the game

white folks can talk all that "go back to Africa" shit, but even if we did en masse they'd (white folks) try to stop us

cuz who would they get to fill the prisons?

Black folks make up about 13% of the total population, but bout 40% of the prison population

see the 13the amendment, slavery was never abolished, jus converted

As I said even if we as a whole attempted to leave, them folks would make it that much harder to leave (prolly make sum new laws or make it more difficult for blacks to obtain passports, somethin)

Exactly. This is how you cripple white people without firing a single shot. The American economy is a service economy. It's not just the prisons, we're talking about police as well. Black people make up 20% of urban populations, Chicago for example.

So imagine little by little Black people started to move back. What's going to happen, overall economy is going to take a hit, immigration economy is going to take a hit, and police forces will take a hit, school teachers take a hit. So much so that layoffs for some fields that employ whites as a safety net like police and teachers will suffer great cutbacks. Eventually all these forces will turn on one another as they strive to find a way to compensate for that air leaking out of the balloon.

What will happen is that then the proletariat whites will be moved to action against the bourgeoisie class.

Black people can win this war without doing any of the fighting. We've done enough bleeding and dying, I don't mind someone else doing it for change. Plus no one can use retaliatory rhetoric against us if all we did was leave.

I can't say it's all bad parenting. Many of these children's parents are working hard for long hours at low-paying jobs to support and feed their children. It's unfortunate that the time spend at these jobs is away from the youth, which leaves them susceptible to ignorance and street life. "It takes a village..." as the old African proverb says.

This post Is more ignorant than the people you're accusing to be, and is why black americans have a distaste for Africans. The audacity Africans have to come into this country speak down on black americans on how lazy, ignorant, thuggish, etc we are is disgusting. Do they know that we were stripped from our history and the furthest back they'll teach you is Fredrick Douglas. We're just now becoming more accessible to information , before all we had was school.

So yall want to come here after slavery ,after the civil rights movement, and reap all the benefits while speaking down to the mothafuckas who made that possible? Man fuck you and your tribe.

I'm reading Sheshat Kemet book - Medieval Upheaval a catalogue of european evils and it brings up these very points. In their own writings they couldn't understand why would they have all these valuables in their home and do not have a door locked and bolted and their women not being under the supervision of men. One said he was home alone with all these goods and if hew as a thief he would take them all and if a rapist he would rape them. That shows that that the European morality right there and there.

sometimes the right planning will still fall. or it may take longer to reach your goal because of trying to find the right people and then its the stress of just running the business.

thing is ....truth be told ..alot of our own people try to screw us before they attempt to try to screw anyone else. simply because they think they will be easily forgiven, we brothers, our they just think we are not smart enough or should be giving them more.

i tried to work with black people, dominicans, white people and africans and now Germans.

try an guess who tried to get over more or sided with a white company to screw me.

being a black business owner also has a certain social stigma. gets to a point you rather just do everything yourself.

at the bolded.....so true.

just like alot of our people here

I think it'll be better to leave this country and take your assets with you. If Blacks left this country en masse, the economy would contract instantly. The best way to hurt America is economically, and this tactic would do it. all of us don't have to go to the same place; some can go to the Caribbean, or some can go to the homeland. It's a good plan and a smart idea. Most coons will say no, and that's why the wiser of us should go. Just the plan alone separates the real from the fake among our community.

They deserve their homeland and we deserve ours.

why you gotta leave to do it...

stay here and do it.

i think its ok to go back to africa to help build or to do what you feel. but do not think it will be easier because of the skin color. you still have to work hard to make moves.

so if the civil rights movement gave us the power we was seeking...would you still leave?

if the police was in check would you still leave?

thing is we will have a hard time no matter where we go.

in white countries we are black

in african countries we are americans .

shit like i said earlier..... alot of africans are trying to come to america for the opportunity.

hearing shit like this, i see why alot of my african brothers call us lazy. they come here an become doctors, take advantage of education and so much more.

@_Goldie_ you my nigga and all but stop with the weak generalisations. Not every African immigrant that moves to the Western hemisphere looks down on Western Blacks.

Every time this topic comes up someone always say this shit.

Africa has enormous problems mostly initiated by Europeans from colonialism till the present era but it is the origin of every Black person on Earth . ..

If an Afro-American wanna up and leave how is that weak or cowardly?

Y'all should read up on the late legendary co-founder of the Black Panthers Stokeley Carmichael who made the ultimate exodus after getting fed up with how his own adopted country treated him.

What's good @rip.dilla ?

You from Nigeria, right?

If a black person walked up to you and started talking about Fela Kuti & Chinua Achebe, how would you feel?

three points:

#1:

classic era Ice Cube said it best:

"And motherfuckers that say they too black/

Put em overseas they be begging to come back/"

Yeah I got bad news for ya'll, you're culturally American. You follow the NFL, eat cheeseburgers, wear american clothes, speak African-American Vernacular English, and listen to hip-hop music. Wherever you move abroad, you are going to miss the culture and being around your peers. You're gonna be that one weird foreigner that doesn't like Soccer.

#2:

Cops are corrupt assholes everywhere. Ya'll know that right? "Fuck the Police......but only within United States borders" lol nah bruh. Go to Africa, you might see some open police corruption that would shock you in America. And move anywhere other than Africa.......well ok, the racism won't be AS BAD, but anti-black racism is more prevalent worldwide than you might think.

#3:

Oh, so you just gonna abandon us all here in Amerikkka hanh? Don't have the backbone to stay and fight hannh? You ready to let a couple of fascist cacs chase you away from where you lay your head hannnh? Because cops killing black folk is so new to America. Yes, this is new. Oh no, cops kill niggas with impunity now, wasn't like that before things have changed time to leave-

lmao

Its one thing to wonder and openly ask the question as a rhetorical exercise. Cool. But realistically African-Americans should not be planning on a mass exodus diaspora any time soon. Only time we should be seriously considering that for everyone is if cacs going Full Holocaust on us and slaughtering us by the millions, to the point where you're safer risking your life on a leaky raft like Syrian refugee.

Even THEN, I see that as an absolute last resort. Because if/when America completely falls apart into all-out civil war, racial carnage, and warlordism, its time for Black Nationalism to become a literal reality. Fight by any means, seize land, expel whites, and build. Like Jews did when they created Israel.

Elated no matter the nationality

Both global giants of the arts (literature and music)

I mean for example they both inspired a HipHop group like The Roots (album title and song samples..)
