MIKE TYSON: "Biggie is the Greatest Lyricist of All Time"

This is what pisses me off. When people bite Biggie lines they need to say his name after. To many of his lines people are getting credit for including Jay. So many people thought the "Bring em Out" line was his. Even Jordan didn't know Biggie rapped it and he was giving Jay Z credit even though Jordan is from Brooklyn. SMDH.

I wonder how many other ppl are in the dark about that line...

They shouldn't be though cause "Victory" as a single was a Top 20 hit and went Gold. The Video is the most expensive rap video of all time. But it's sad that Jay Z is getting credit for that line since "N!ggas in Paris" blew up worldwide.

Word.. but I can't front, I thought that was Jay's line until I heard Keep Your Hands High for the first time..

What I love about the video is that Mike showed he was a Hip Hop Head. He corrected someone on the spot. More fans need to educate people. Cabbie, you lost points man. Know the history. KanYe bit the line on "Cruel Summer" too, as well as Camron:

"Your career is over like Mike, Anyone Tyson, Jordan, Jackson, Ask Them" - Camron

"If you head the belt, You would know how Michael Felt, Jackson, Tyson, Jordan, Michael Phelps" - KanYe

Like how people swear Jay-Z was the first to say "99 problems but a bitch ain't 1" even though that came from Ice T who did a song called 99 Problems back in 1993 with that line being the hook.

As far Biggie being the greatest lyricist i have to STRONGLY disagree. This is what death does though. So Biggie is a better lyricist than Nas too? Years ago i'd pick Biggie over Jigga but let's keep it 100 Jay-Z is a better lyricist, he did get to do more albums though obviously. There's so many more to name. Better lyricist than Rakim? Better lyricist than G Rap? The list goes on and on.

As for Big being the GOAT LYRICIST. It's all subjective but I think he does have a case especially when you consider how many rappers have taken so many bars from him. If it was a few bars here or there, it would be one thing but Rappers have taken mad bars. XXL Top 100 Biggie Bites was crazy and they didn't get everything. To me he's most definitely one of the greatest lyricist, Top 10 for sure.

” I come over and fight, you a lame. You forgot over the night? Yo, your career’s over like Mike. Anyone, Tyson, Jordan, Jackson”

- Cam’ron “Hate Me Now (Nas diss)” 2002

“Psycho. I’m liable to go Michael, take your pick. Jackson, Tyson, Jordan, Game 6.”

- Jay-Z “Niggas in Paris” 2011.

“If you ever held a title belt, you would know how Michael felt.

Tyson, Jackson, Jordan, Michael Phelps.”

A lot of people mix that line up. I've heard "Raw Nights", the video said "Long Nights", I heard "On Mics" as well as "Warm Nights". Big actually says, "Brawl Nights" as in "Fight Nights". This is why he mentions Tyson's name 1st.

Canibus (He said Big was the GOAT, so)

Ras Kass (Naw, but he's underrated)

Pharoahe Monch (Can't put him above Big but he's underrated)

Rakim (Argument)

Big Pun (Argument)

Chino XL (Naw)

Common (Argument)

Nas (Argument)

Jay-Z (Took to many Biggie rhymes to be put above him)

Eminem (Argument but even Em had trouble with Big's Mic Presence on Dead Wrong and that was early Big)

Mos Def (Love Mos, but No)

Kool G Rap (Argument)

***Anticipates several wacks and nosigns***

All of those guys are really good lyricist for sure so I can't knock the list. But You have to understand, Big was a great lyricist cause he got the most with less. He didn't need a million bars. He just needed a few to really get his point across. Also his Mic Presence and Delivery really accented his wordplay. Someone could look on paper and see a Biggie rhyme but you have to Hear him spit to understand it and how his wordplay works.
