He was not happy with Face at all b/c if def jam liked his album they owned rights to the album and not just rap a lot. That's why j prince had yukmouth(his puppet at the time who doesn't even fuck with him anymore) diss Scarface. He was mad that Face took luda to Def Jam. Remember luda's 1st real appearance was on the realest niggas down south compilation. then he started dropping albums from Face that Face never even worked on or even new was coming out. My Homies 2 and Balls and My word. They dropped Balls and my word took some old face verse and re produced the tracks. Then he did the samething to Pimp C with Sweet James Jones Stories. Took some old pimp c lyrics and re produced the tracks. Even pimp c was fucked up about that. that's why he had that nigga Bentley when he gout out of jail. He would always sell a Scarface verse to like 4 different artists. when Devin left the label and was dropping indy albums he was dropping unreleased Devin material on the same day to under cut Devin. J Prince taught Suge Knight everything he knows. Only good thin J prince did was let guys make the music they want too. But he's just as cruddy as every other CEO. shit big Mike went to prison setting J Prince shit on fire b/c he coudln't get paid. Willie D and Bushwick left multiple times b/c they couldn't get paid. As Scarface said j prince is legally right to use their vocals but the shit is morally wrong. Them niggas all had slave deals

Since the first time I bought the self-titled Geto Boys album as a kid, I was hooked. For the next 20 years, I supportted Rap-A-Lot unconditionally. If it had the RAL crown logo on the back, I bought it. Over the years, I've bought all their shit - even the less popular albums, like Dorosel "Unleash the Beast", all of Ganksta N.I.P.'s albums, Ghetto Twins "No Pain, No Gain", The Convicts (Big Mike & 3-2), Blac Monks "Death Before Dishonor" & "No Mercy", Snypaz "Livin In the Scope", Odd Squad "Fadanuf fa Erybody", Big Mike "Hard to Hit", 5th Ward Juveniles, Willie D "Contraversy", "I'm Goin Out Like A Soldier", "Hated By Many Loved by Few", etc. I even used to do promotions for Virgin/ Noo Trybe (RAL's one-time distibutor). I'm a huge Scarface, Devin the Dude, Mike Dean, N.O. Joe, John Bido, Bushwick, and Tela fan. I used to hold a great deal of respect for J.Prince, but after reading about how Pimp C's widow is having to sue him for unpaid royalties from her late husband's solo recordings released through RAL, my views have changed. The man has made a lot of money from his boxing management firm and his black angus cattle farm. Apparently RAL is just a side hobby and he obviously has no respect for their legacy. Scarface is in prison and apparently no one cares (?). Bun B is the only artist keeping that sinking label alive, and his last album, which was straight heat, was poorly promoted. And I can't believe he would stand by and let J sue Pimp C's widow. J. Prince is a great businessman, but he treats his artists like garbage. Ask Devin, Tela, Yukmouth, Scarface, Bushwick, 3-2, Z-Ro, Big Mike, and many more artists that he's thrown under the bus over the years. To me, this is the nail in the coffin. I'll still always support former RAL artists, but J. Prince just lost all credibility with me.

mattee c;2832872 said:1000% cosign brother. Good to know other fans were noticing this shit. J. Prince talks all that self-righteous, political shit, but he's been runnin Rap-A-Lot like a plantation. He's been given his artists the "Master P" - makin shitloads off their albums, not spending any money on promotions or adequate videos, and payin his artist slave wages. And you're absolutely right about him releasing all those old studio outtakes (Balls And My Word, My Homies II, that 2Face album [Pac & Face outtakes], Devin's High Life, Sweet James Jones Stories, etc.), out of spite because Face took Luda to Def Jam South. RAL had been tryin to sign him and basically faced cautioned him against that. I'm sure Luda has no regrets. "Catch Up" was Ludacris' debut track and it was originally on that Realest N*gg*s Down South comp. Face also tried to sign Lil Flip to Def Jam South (even though he eventually signed with Sony), who J wanted on RAL. The timeline says it all. And those Yukmouth disses appeared right on schedule. But I do not think RAL is, or ever has been a front for any large-scale drug dealing.

God damn you're on point with that analogy homie. Cedric Singleton = Suge Knight = J. Prince. That's why Lynch's EBK4 album is only half the classic it should be. Ced stole the masters halfway through recording. And just a strange bit of trivia - when Dre left Death Row, he originally wanted to name Aftermath, Black Market Records. He even made Ced Sing an offer (don't know how much), which he obviously refused. He fucked up Mr. Doctor's career too. I'm just glad to still see Lynch doin his thing with Tech N9ne and Strange Music. He's definately the most underrated ever.

Thanks for the insight on Dre wanting to name Aftermath, Black Market. I didnt know that and I was huge Lynch fan and always posting on 916siccness.com. I'm also glad to see Lynch still putting it down wit TechNina.
