Does it really matter when that picture was taken? Some people in here wanted to give dude the benefit of the doubt that "Maybe because she'd made threats ebfore he didn't take her seriously" when he put a picture on facebook of her choking their son already...all that "You can't blame him for his reaction" shit is out the window

1. @Trillfate's reply sounded like he thought the picture was taken then and that's why he was complicit.

2. I still can't see the only conclusion that can be drawn from him having posted a picture of her choking the kid before as some sign of automatic guilt. If anything, he can say that's why he didn't take her seriously - because she does shit like that, but never really hurt the kids.

Agreed. This is why mental illness gets a lot of negative attention. Many people who commit crimes are not mentally ill in that sense and it is overused as a defense which only hurts those that really are suffering from a mental disorder.

You are also right in that not all mothers feel an emotional bond with their children and society can't wrap their heads around that.

I don't know what was really going on in this horrible situation but I really wish people that don't want their kids would just walk away, it's like some of them would rather kill them and that I just can't understand.
