Y'all blowing the whole "he didn't write this hook or THIS part " shit outta proportion.

It's like y'all don't understand what kind of artist he is...we've literally have never seen a Hip Hop artist with the Musical range and versatility that Drake has.

The nigga's a hit making machine...he had the fucking biggest record of the year SINGING a Dancehall ballad lol he could literally come out with a country record and make Hip Hop stations play the shit every 30 minutes and win a CMA by the end of the year.

My point is...Drake isn't JUST a rapper...he's many other things, including a Writer which he's won awards for. We don't trip when R&B and pop artists don't write their records...he does those records too AND writes them . But the nigga gets a hook or bridge or some shit from one of his homies and now his whole career is frowned upon.???

Give that man his props...he became the butt of many jokes over the years and is still the hottest artist in the world right now next to Beyonce and shit. That's talent and Perserverance for yo ass brah

I was listening to this one album that came out recently, I think it was called Speakerboxxx/Love Below. One dude on there was singing, playing guitar, piano, conducted orchestras, even rapped a couple of verses. Craziest thing in the world. Man, I miss the old days when people just rapped and sang songs that were given to them.

Lol ehhh idk about being able to really compare those two...2 of the most multi-talented artist music has ever seen though

Meek mill will be mentioned with the likes of young berg and bow wow for the unprecedented streak of L's he's collected in a short time. That will be his claim to fame 10 years from now. His career is already fizzling a bit, and it won't be long before he's on reality television where major careers go to die.

Drake's title of good rapper was never his claim to fame, he was just a great artist/package that could rap pretty well, and hold a decent note. Now he is put into the Kanye catagory by apologists because his entertainment and artist value outweigh his talent as a lyricist and that's not what should hold the weight.

Drake was at the top of the mountain, and will be remembered for his time at the top, the same way Ja had his time, the same way P, and others had their couple year reign. Drake will be remembered for his moment. Meek never had his moment, and if he did, it was only to push drake to greater heights.

This why I hate the Internet

Y'all blow shit up and then run with it like it's gospel

Did meek lose a rap battle? Yes

But that's it!

Berg out here gettin robbed and slapped and kicked off reality TV shows

Bow wow going bankrupt, gettin engaged to reality TV show thots and doing joint albums with soulja boy

Stop it

I know the L shit is funny and whatever but y'all be so quick to hand them muhfuckas out for the dumbest shit

I remember it was whole thread on here about how meek lost cuz he was wearing jordans while he had a sponsorship from puma

Only on the internet is wearing a pair of 200 dollar shoes when you gettin paid to wear another brand of shoes a loss

Well that would be a loss if puma axed his contract over it which endorsement companies do if you wear a rival product. Meek Mill takes the bigger L because even though Drake and his writing is forever suspect, his actual character isn't. Meek exposed himself as an emotional nigga who don't think before he reacts. In 10 years nobody will give a fuck Drake got help with a song like Energy...but they will remember those twitter and instagram "I'm quitting the internet" only to come back 2 minutes later rants from Meek

nah.

niggas still say "nas lost" and that was 16 years ago.

anybody who cares about the argument (top 5 RAPPER shit) will FOREVER remember this shit.

Who in here seriously had Drake as a top 5 ever artist before any of shit? The nigga's entry to mainstream was him "freestyling" off a blackberry and still fucking up.

I say that to say, the nigga was and always will be an entertainer who's legacy was always going to be what it is.

So?

And puma didn't axe the contract

Ok... Serious question...and maybe I've missed something somewhere as I don't really follow the chap, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong... But how can Drake even be put in the same talks as Dre, Ye, and Swizz? Them niggas actually make (or at least at some point in time HAVE made) beats and have been very hands on in the the beat making/production process. He MAY be closer to Diddy or Eazy...but even then, we are well aware of their producer skills.

Again, I'm not well versed in Drake-a-nese so please hip me if I'm missing something... But what does that nigga actually do?

And I certainly remember a time where he was being touted as the "next best rapper alive" and to some even "the savior of hip hop"...

The soft jokes were definitely there...but so were the claims that he was a "dope mc"... And this spans back before Kendrick or Cole ever got known. Why I remember is because it was what made me initially check dude out in the 1st place. Did so... Heard all the singin... And decided it wasn't my cup of tea... ESPECIALLY if that's what was supposed to be a "lyricist".
