It's almost like the Barry Bonds of rap.... Yea you got all those records but no amount of home runs gonna make ppl forget you cheated them and that'll always be your legacy.... That's huge when you tryna portray yourself as great and wanna be with the greatest that's a huge hit to a nigga becuz it'll never go nowhere the meek jokes will get old after awhile and the internet will find a new punching bag.... That Drake legacy thing will be forever for him

Wrong person to use. If you know baseball. Barry Bonds was considered a great and a HOF'er before left the Pirates and went to the Giants. Its still brought up till this day as a reason for sports writers being bitches for not voting Bonds into the HOF because he had a HOF career before the actual use of steroids.

Now if you would've said Mark Mcgwire I would've agreed with you.

True but either way it's a matter of your legacy being tarnished and no matter what you did b4 or after once your viewed as a cheater you gotta live with that... If Drake was aiming for Puff and Dre type of albums it wouldn't be a problem but he was aiming for Jay and Nas status and now he gotta look at the mountain top and know he can never reach it

True as well. Just stating that Bonds at a point had unquestioned and untainted greatness.

Drake whole career is in question.

I got your point its just I'm a Barry Bonds fan is all.

I'm one of the biggest bond fans too so I get it lol

Meek mill will be mentioned with the likes of young berg and bow wow for the unprecedented streak of L's he's collected in a short time. That will be his claim to fame 10 years from now. His career is already fizzling a bit, and it won't be long before he's on reality television where major careers go to die.

Drake's title of good rapper was never his claim to fame, he was just a great artist/package that could rap pretty well, and hold a decent note. Now he is put into the Kanye catagory by apologists because his entertainment and artist value outweigh his talent as a lyricist and that's not what should hold the weight.

Drake was at the top of the mountain, and will be remembered for his time at the top, the same way Ja had his time, the same way P, and others had their couple year reign. Drake will be remembered for his moment. Meek never had his moment, and if he did, it was only to push drake to greater heights.

That's where y'all doing the revisionist history thing..... Drake being a great rapper WAS his claim nobody started putting him into the ye category till the ghost writing claims but b4 that he was put in the top lyricist category.... He himself would brag able how great he was so let's all stop acting like Drake from jump has just always been in the only entertainer/artist category becuz b4 this beef he was in the MC category

Drake was initially sold as a good rapper that could sing too. Most niggas never took drake seriously as a great MC. Just because he would brag about how great he was don't make him great. The perception among myself and most people who's opinions I respect is that he was cool for what he was, a talented hitmaker, an above average lyricist, and subpar album crafting ability, like he still is, with the exception of the lyricism.

My lil brother says drake makes great vibe music. And he does, but great lyrics, cohesive albums..... Na. His most cohesive album was his first mixtape.

But that's my point he was aiming for the greats... And I think you looking at it from hip hop heads in the streets I'm talking wide scale he was being viewed as a lyricist I mean even when you see other rappers and such talk about him they say I had him in there with the lyricist now I've taken him out..... To me that hurts just as much as Twitter jokes if not more becuz those will go away but your legacy you gotta live with that forever

I don't like Drakes music but yall acting like he ain't worth 100 million....

Some things money can't buy..... Would you rather have a bank account like Drake with a joke of a legacy or a bank account like Nas but have a goat legacy... I believe if he could he would exchange it which is why I think the hit he took was just as big

This is how I look at it.

Where would Drake be without rap?

Where would Meek be without rap?

Meek would most certainly be dead or in jail.

Drake would be an actor.

Meek ain't ever Losing. It's literally impossible.

Bingo....the only way meek could take a L is if he got Life.......as long as meek is out free making Mills livin life fuk wat some square on the net is talking about a L especially when compared to them meek is winning everyday

I like the concept of this thread.

But it reminds me of them URL niggas with those lines like : "Before the shot.......after the shot......." ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh dom demarco

Y'all blowing the whole "he didn't write this hook or THIS part " shit outta proportion.

It's like y'all don't understand what kind of artist he is...we've literally have never seen a Hip Hop artist with the Musical range and versatility that Drake has.

The nigga's a hit making machine...he had the fucking biggest record of the year SINGING a Dancehall ballad lol he could literally come out with a country record and make Hip Hop stations play the shit every 30 minutes and win a CMA by the end of the year.

My point is...Drake isn't JUST a rapper...he's many other things, including a Writer which he's won awards for. We don't trip when R&B and pop artists don't write their records...he does those records too AND writes them . But the nigga gets a hook or bridge or some shit from one of his homies and now his whole career is frowned upon.???

Give that man his props...he became the butt of many jokes over the years and is still the hottest artist in the world right now next to Beyonce and shit. That's talent and Perserverance for yo ass brah

I was listening to this one album that came out recently, I think it was called Speakerboxxx/Love Below. One dude on there was singing, playing guitar, piano, conducted orchestras, even rapped a couple of verses. Craziest thing in the world. Man, I miss the old days when people just rapped and sang songs that were given to them.

This why I hate the Internet

Y'all blow shit up and then run with it like it's gospel

Did meek lose a rap battle? Yes

But that's it!

Berg out here gettin robbed and slapped and kicked off reality TV shows

Bow wow going bankrupt, gettin engaged to reality TV show thots and doing joint albums with soulja boy

Stop it

I know the L shit is funny and whatever but y'all be so quick to hand them muhfuckas out for the dumbest shit

I remember it was whole thread on here about how meek lost cuz he was wearing jordans while he had a sponsorship from puma

Only on the internet is wearing a pair of 200 dollar shoes when you gettin paid to wear another brand of shoes a loss

Going with Drake's legacy...

He will never get the respect he wanted from the hip-hop audience/purist, it's done now, no matter how many records he sells going forward. That ghostwriting stain will always be there and Meek will always be tied/associated to it...

Being in the convo with Dre, Diddy and Ye is not terrible tho; but we all know he was aiming for rap Mt Rushmore status...

Well that would be a loss if puma axed his contract over it which endorsement companies do if you wear a rival product. Meek Mill takes the bigger L because even though Drake and his writing is forever suspect, his actual character isn't. Meek exposed himself as an emotional nigga who don't think before he reacts. In 10 years nobody will give a fuck Drake got help with a song like Energy...but they will remember those twitter and instagram "I'm quitting the internet" only to come back 2 minutes later rants from Meek
