it really seems like he stepped back because as he said, "street niggaz", used his beef to try to get into the game. so he said fuck it, quit, so they won't have his back to climb
but his real issue is that he's in the middle of a tour and can't find the proper time to make a decent comeback record. he lost by the timing alone, when he started it. i guess it was to generate some buzz and boost ticket sales to the venues to have fans anticipate what he'll say live.
just his style of rap isn't built for battling, he would have lost anyway, if he did have the time
