People like "what?" haha In a way this shows the disconnect between this forum and internet jokes and nonsense and whats really goin on. Two different worlds no surprise there thats how it is.

Meek wasn't that nigga the 2 highlights from the album was the song where diddy was talking about deep shit and the RICO song which included drake. He sold well and had a temporary buzz but then the album was quickly forgotten. Even though i think TPAB was overrated on and off the IC it was a superior album to Meeks. It also had a message that went hand in hand with the struggles in the real world for black folk.

FYI He didnt win "Best Album" he won "Top Album"

Basically he won because he was the most trendy rap artist during the time span that they were gathering the metrics.

The metric pretty much boil down to the "most talked about" Meek Mill was talked about mostly on how Drake won, and why he was crying on twitter (about the RICO song)

IYARTITL, and Pimp a Butterfly came out a few weeks before they started the new metrics btw, so they got screwed

At this critical point the stakeholders are clearly fighting for the life of their investment/product, it´s as simple as that, they trying to save a shinking ship and doing some damage control for the horse that they got in the race. No way this beats Kendrick´s effort in any way you slice it.

You don't do the numbers he did in 2015 off just a temporary buzz..... Meek was one of the most popular niggas in rap at that time

The album had strong first week sales but after the beef nobody was talking about his album they were talking about his twitter fingers. Even the song with nikki didn't go gold. The Rico song with drake also didn't go gold. How do you have a top album and don't have a gold selling single or an album that wasn't talked about past the first month or so?

His buzz had everything to do with his social media crying and his shots at drake exposing a ghost writer. TPAB was talked about all year. The Game's album exceeded expectations and was talked about later in the summer. Cole and drake had music that was on the radio and buzzing that was talked about. Big Seans singles from Dark sky paradise were hits play no games, idfwu and blessings. But meek ain't have hits in 2015.

Meh. Album was straight. Wasn't better than Kendricks or Dre's, but I'd agree it was better than Drake's two junts.

Congrats

Bruh niggas was waiting on Meek to drop when he got locked up.... y'all don't be remembering nothing.... again you not going 250 first week off a lil buzz in 2015.... Meek was that nigga you might need to go back in time and see how everybody was rolling with Meek b4 the whole Drake shit....it's basically the reverse thing of what happened to Ja rule he was one of the hottest rappers out that's not just a lil buzz

215K actual copies and 246K with streaming now just under 400,000 maybe it is gold with streams idk. Regardless it came it exceeded expectations first week but was quickly forgotten. Again 0 smash hit singles. Couldn't even go gold with nikki and drake helping him on 2 of the singles. The rest of the summer was about his twitter fingers nobody was playing the album anywhere. If you're reading this, Futures Mixtapes, TPAB, Dark Sky Paradise and Forest Hills Drive 2014 easily eclipsed meeks album as far as what niggas was bumping in the whip or hearing at the club/concert hype music before the main act. All you are pointing at is first week sales and the lead up. But after all that the shit faded.

This isn't every album this is top rap album. FHD ran from december well into august with buzz and popularity. TPAB had the hype and then ran through the entire summer. Drakes mixtape last year was playing everywhere and people consumed it from the winter through fall. So what was your hooting and hollering about in this thread if you can't even prove meeks album ain't fade quick like an average album?
