Im gon say this though. Alot of people around this time last year also thought j. cole was gonna flop, but then he sold 217k first week WITHOUT A HIT. Meek has more buzz now than cole had before his album came out. At worst, Meek is gonna sell 120k first week and that's still impressive for a artist like him.

J Cole sold that much, Wow is he gold or Plat yet?

Gold wit 620k sold.

Wow that is impressive, I do not see Meek reaching the audience Cole did though. Cole touched that college crowd them niggas with credit and debit cards, Meek touching niggas with Food Stamp cards.

Lol at Meek having more buzz than Cole. None of Meeks mixtape generated the buzz of FNL and Cole was touring heavy with Rihanna, BET,etc. J Cole had that college crowd sewn up, who is Meeks base, broke hood niggas?

Dreamchasers 2 crashed the internet when it dropped, just like fnl did. Meek was tourin wit Drake, which also exposed him to a whole new demographic. Alot of ya are sleepin on Meek's fanbase. He has a movement from the whole philly, south jersey and DE area, and that was BEFORE he signed wit Ross. Meek's buzz now is bigger than what cole's was this same time last year. Cole's buzz really started to pick up AFTER his album dropped.

If Cole buzz picked up after his album drop, then why did he sell 217k his first week. Smh J Cole buzz picked up when FNL dropped and IN THE MORNING blew up, which is months before his album.

The love of Meek Mill reminds me of how many cats where all over Young Buck during the G-Unit days of 2004.

If I had to wager in this climate I don't put it over 100k at the moment. If he comes up with a decent hit maybe 150k.

Meek Buzz is hotter than Bucks and his material is stronger IMO. He got that Bruce Leroy Glow right now. Its hard to compare it to someone else because like you said the climate is so different.

Meek damn sure aint bigger than Wale and Wale damn sure aint bigger than Cole. Meek will be lucky if he does Tyga numbers and Tyga is much more commercial and dont yell on records.

Waka had Meek on what, track 2 of his album? He's like the hottest up-and-comer in the fuckin industry right now. He can spit and he can make songs for bitches and clubs. Stop hatin.

i see meek with 95,000- 130,000

like that nigga on his couch said, i see Meek Being the New X . Niggaz want a talented street nigga like X was in his hey .

He may not have the suburban crowd . but he got the young crowd sowed up, and they purchase. so he'll be straight.

His 2 million downloads in one day say otherwise. He'll do somewhere in between wale and j. cole numbers.

And how many of those downloads were free? Millz will be lucky to break 100k to be honest.

go listen to your pink panties music , this is not for u. u marshmallows b.

Cole sold that off the strength of his mixtapes. What i meant was that his mainstream buzz picked up after his album dropped. That's when cole's fanbase started to grow more outside of the blogs and college crowd and he started gettin more casual listeners. Meek is wayy more popular than wale, maybe not cole, but i hear more about him than wale. Im not even that huge of a Meek fan, but i know he's gonna sell, just like i knew j. cole was gonna sell.

Yea his buzz is larger, but he has more exposure too. Mill has been on 2 compilations, has a multitude of mixtapes and has more than a dozen features.

Considering all that he has to be held to a higher standard. 100K is the breaking point, if he doesn't crack that he's a failure. The nigga is on TV every 10 minutes.

MMG is as hot as any label has been so they are at the peak of their money making capabilities, he may do well. I'm sure he's being groomed to be a success.

I don't really care about sales but its fun to estimate.

that faggit coconut usmarin3 only capping for wale becuz he was once a roc nation affiliate. lol at yo punk ass thinking meek cant exceeds wale's numbers. u a bitch. i'd take ur mother's favorite pressure cooker she cook oxtail with and floor u with it u faggit

meek is that nigga right now but come on unless MMG and warner buy some of them albums the homie ain't doing more than somewhere in the 100k-200k range. nothing to do with his buz cause next to french he the hottest nigga in the streets...but the streets don't buy albums.

@HassanCop

Just stop bruh both Meek & Wale are under Roc Nation management and WTF is "capping"? Is that like Jonin'?

I'm just glad attention-seekers are focused on Meek flopping instead of saying that Curren$y and Krit flopped.

...I try to get into the sales debates but knowing that supposedly 85% of the people who buy rap albums are white and that Insane Clown Posse have platinum albums and The Roots have none makes it laughable and just fodder for discussion.
