The Extremis part was a good touch. Banter was pretty good. But the case of the week was meh....

Oh and the car flying at the end was corny. I'll give it a few more episodes but I liked Sleepy Hollow & Blacklist 1st episodes more...

first show was ok....

a little slow, but iight, ill watch next week.

i wish they had known marvel super heroes in this instead of no name "plug in" type heroes like tonight. .

more than that i hope they look more towards the marvel comics for plot lines going forward.

it was like an issue of the comic where you were disappointed that there was no "real action"

i understand it's all a build up to something big towards the end of the season/run since it seems all the episodes are connected or run together.

when/if they get desperate, they'll bring in a few known names.

wasn't expecting much, so I'll give it time

Question: Did they discover who the scientist is who developed the unstable "super solider" serum? If so, is SHIELD planning to find that scientist and who funded such a project?

I stepped away and lost some dialogue, and all of the bunnies sort of looked alike.

No they didn't find the scientist yet.

I bet this show will have c and d list Marvel characters.

You mean, like Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, etc. all were not that long ago?

The Marvel universe is huge and they are smart to keep developing new characters so they don't get stuck in a Batman/Superman loop like DC. Lets be real, the only Marvel characters who been on are Spider-Man and Hulk. I'm talking, was on before any of this superhero movie stuff caught on mainstream. Everybody knew who they were for decades. Then you had the X-Men to a much lesser extent...then maybe somebody had heard of Fantastic Four, but that's it. Everybody else JUST got on like that.

Anyway, I watched. I thought it was solid, maybe because my expectations were so low, but i'll keep watching.

Thought it was a good first episode. We don't need to see the big name characters, they just need to stay true to the Marvel mythos. They reference the Avengers enough. My guess is that the show will tie in with Avengers 2 through the scientist they are looking for .

got a feeling this show will get cancelled soon. Not enough recognizable comic book characters and the civilian characters can't carry a show like this alone.

For some reason, i thought the black dude was gonna end up being Luke cage. On one hand i was a bit disappointed, but on the other, im so effin glad b/c that dude SUCKED as a character.

I was thinking he was going to be some sort of Black Panther type character, or even BP himself, until homegurl stole his ID card and it showed his name and that he stated that he was experimented on.

So any idea as to why that scientist is trying to replicate the "super soldier" serum? Could this be a lead-in for the return of Red Skull and someone is attempting to "resurrect" him?

Wheldon or whatever his name is has weight. This show won't get cancelled this season based solely on that. If you compare it to Heroes, this pilot wasn't as good. Honestly, the hype of this show is the only reason I watched the whole episode. I'll watch one more and go from there.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Premieres to Super Ratings

Marvel's new show Hulk-smashes The Voice and NCIS.

by Max Nicholson SEPTEMBER 25, 2013

ABC and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was kicking ass and taking names in the ratings last night, delivering 11.9 million viewers and a 4.6 adults 18-49 rating. That makes it TV's highest-rated drama debut in nearly four years.

11.9 million viewers is certainly nothing to scoff at, but what's especially notable here is that S.H.I.E.L.D. went up against The Voice and NCIS -- two of the most popular shows on TV -- and beat the blockbuster NCIS (3.4) in the 18-49 demo. The show also tied with the two-hour Voice episode (4.6), and even beat it during the 8pm hour. To be fair, both The Voice (with 14.14 million viewers) and NCIS (with a still amazing 19.47 million viewers) had more people actually watching them, but in TV, success is all about that coveted 18-49 demo, and for S.H.I.E.L.D. to be able to get such a good number, given the competition, is a very positive sign.

Hopefully S.H.I.E.L.D.'s ratings will hold steady in the coming weeks.

Luckily, comic book and fantasy fare has proven quite lucrative on TV in recent years with shows like ABC's own Once Upon a Time and The CW's Arrow. It was also announced yesterday that FOX will be getting in on that action with a new Commissioner Gordon origin TV series.
