dunno if yall caught it, but they meshed Christopher reeves face on cavills face when he was about to fly into the gravity ship.

that was a dope tribute

Just saw it.. I didn't think it was some epic shit but it met my expectations which wasn't high but high enough.. When General Zod grabs Supes mom and he comes in on some ... "Getchyo hands off my momma" while beating him down was dope. Give it a 8.5 out of 10.

With that said.. if this hasn't been posted here, I might as well.

Is that what that was? I noticed they did something weird, but I didn't catch on to what it was.

Also, the weird xenophobic backstory as to why Clark played the background is bullshit, too. I'm starting to hate the "realism" in these superhero movies, throwing the US government in it everywhere. I mean, where the fuck is Metropolis supposed to be if this is real America in the DC universe? We all know Gotham is NYC, but is Metropolis supposed to be LA? Chicago?

It was mentioned by either Zack or Goyer (can't remember) a while back that Metropolis is in the mid-Atlantic region of the US.

They mentioned S.T.A.R labs which is responsible for creating Cyborg.

S.T.A.R. Labs was a staple of Superman comic books many years before Cyborg even existed.

Goyer actually did mention that it was hint at Cyborg though.

I caught that. Also what sounded like the George Reeves take off sounds when he was first learning to fly, also a dope nod.

Glad we finally have a worthy successor to CR and somebody who embodies a modern era Post-Crisis Supes. And though flawed I loved this movie. Went back and saw it a third time. An awesome set up for not only future Supes installments but also the DC cinematic universe.

I may be in the minority here but I cannot wait for Lex. If they write him the way I'm expecting them to, I think he will be GOAT. And you know he will be a key player in rebuilding Metropolis so he will have major power and influence. I noticed some possible hints at Brainiac with the inclusion of Jax-Ur and a glimpse at Krypton's exploded moon. May get that Lex/Brainiac combo that I so want.

Also that open pod on the ancient scout ship is very intriguing. If it's Kara, is she still alive? If so, what the hell has she been doing for the past 18,000 years? How long has she been awake? I know in the prequel she was outside of the pod when the ship was about to crash but Kal didn't seem to find any dead bodies outside of their pods when he was walking around the ship and one person was shown walking away from the ship after it crash in the prequel.

Also I got lil chuckle out of two Emil Hamiltons in the same scene together (Alessandro Juliani, Hamilton from Smallville with Richard Schiff's Emil Hamilton). I'm sure that was not coincidence.

No Spoiler tags 'cause you shouldn't be in this bitch if you haven't seen it yet.

Co-sign this most powerful of statements. I did something that I rarely do, I didn't read the spoilers in I actually wanted to be surprised. These fag ass niggas that complain about the lack of a spoiler alert are the same dudes that would complain about chitlins begins nasty as fuck after the forewarning. This isn't a film cite where we're going to discuss the dope ass acting, the cinematography, editing, the score, and the film's director. We're going to come on this muthafucka and talk about the movie. If you don't want to know the movie, don't come on the thread until the movie is released. It's a damn shame I saw the shit last night, but I can't talk about the movie, because I don't want to get banned like I did last summer for my in depth review of TDR.

After this movie, on some real shit, there is no reason on this planet that a live action Dragon Ball Z movie should not be made properly. I read some review where dude was like the CGI wasn't "groundbreaking" or "revolutionary." Get all the way the fuck out of here. Maybe not for destruction and explosions, but the fight sequences as far as human animation? Fuck outta here.

Due to the lack of name recognition in the U.S. Dragonball probably wouldn't get the budget or directors and screenwriters that would treat source material with dignity and respect. I can't just imagination the changes that would be made to a DBZ movie adaption. Also DBZ would be "whitewashed," like a muthafucka ala Avatar: The Last Airbender.

The fight scenes alone are worth the admission price. I even appreciate that Superman caught a body. I literally said "Oh, fuck!" out loud. Whole audience I was with gasped at the shit like, "But Superman doesn't kill!"

Word, I tripped off that and it bold move on Synder's part. I just wonder what will the ramifications be in the next movie.

Saw. Mixed feelings, most are good.

Tried TOO hard to be dark, IMO. The thing is, Batman works in the dark because the persona of Bruce Wayne is one built by tragedy. Clark Kent's/Kal-EL story isn't that complex, and the movie tried to make it so. By doing that, it took some WEIRD-ass turns.

I found it to be an exceptionally good Superman Elseworlds type of story.

Also, the weird xenophobic backstory as to why Clark played the background is bullshit, too. I'm starting to hate the "realism" in these superhero movies, throwing the US government in it everywhere.

Not really. Out of everything that was on point in the movie, this was dead on. Niggas would lose their fucking mind if somebody like Kal-El showed up on day on Earth.

I mean, where the fuck is Metropolis supposed to be if this is real America in the DC universe? We all know Gotham is NYC, but is Metropolis supposed to be LA? Chicago?

Metropolis is suppose to be the nicer parts of New York City, Midtown, 5th Avenue, Centennial Park (Central Park,) The Big Apricot, (The Big Apple), The West River (The East River,) The borough of Brookline (Brooklyn), the island of Metropolis (where the Lexcorp HQ, The Planet, and Galaxy Broadcasting, is suppose to be Manhattan.) Back in the day, (this is when NYC was still fucked up,) I was told that Gotham City is everything below 42nd St. and Metropolis is everything above 42nd St. Personally, I when I think of Gotham City, I think of Detroit with more skyscrapers with the corruption of New Orleans or Chicago.

If I had to rank it with a few of the more known superhero movies in the last 10 years:

TKD>>>>>TDKR>>>MoS>Avengers>>ASM>>>Batman Begins>>>ALL Iron Man movies>>>>>>>>that bullshit Superman Returns

TKD>>>>Avengers>>>>>Kick Ass>>>>300>>>>MoS>>>>Spidey 2

Aside that it kinda dragged, (which is to be expected in an origins story Man of Steel is the GOAT adaption of the Superman story. Synder really did his homework, because I could see a lot of the Byrne era shit in the movie. (e.g. the robots, and Kryptonian armor,) I'm not mad at Lois knowing the secret identity, (I'm assuming they might go with them eventually getting married,) I just would have stretched it out over the course franchise with her keeping the secret to herself. Though it would have been cool, having Michael Shannon say "Kneel before Zod," wouldn't have sounded right because this interpretation of Zod wasn't that type of character.

My biggest gripes about the movie is:

1) Too many people know he's Superman. To quote Lana's mom, "All of those kids saw what Clark did." I don't know, maybe one of those kids will pass that info on to Lex.

2) The Death of Pa Kent. This is my second favorite story arch. After restoring Kandor back to it's original size, Pa Kent is attacked bu those Brainiac probe thingy and has a heart attack. Ma Kent is screaming "Clark!" Then Supes hears her scream "Jon!" Supes hears it, then shoots back to Smallville. There no dialogue is those last panels. Just a mother and son kneel over the body of deceased husband and father. Shit was fucking epic and would have translated very well to film. Pa Kent's death made a lot of sense for the movie, but greatly diminished one of the greatest comic book deaths ever.

I have a question. How is a movie with Doomsday suppose to be done without it looking like Man of Steel?Another one of my favorite parts of the was with the exception of the Lexcorp oil tanker, no Lex.

Sad that gl was poorly done it had a lot of potential to be the iron man of this universe but instead of bridging earth to everyone else it also connects space and would show that kryptonians aren't the only ones in the universe

gl was forgettable as hell....we can pretend that shit never even happened...

they just better make a damn good flash movie

they can make like 2 or 3 good movies about the death and return of barry allen....

that shit could be epic

People like to assume those buildings were evacuated. They went over the top with the carnage. Was a bit too much. They tried too hard to make it "dark" too.
