That's unfair to say he fell off if he bounced back with F&L2.

Of course Lasers was bullshit but before that his track record was flawless. Fahrenheit 1-3, F&L, The Cool and EotS were consecutive great bodies of work.

I think his views on shit sways opinion on his music.

Musically he seems to be in a good space. I give no fucks about his twitter antics.

He needs to drop another album on the same calibre as the cool or f&l 1 if he wants to get that excitement back in regards to how people attract themselves to his music

But you've circumvented your entire argument of him falling off by acknowledging that his last album was good. For the people that say he fell off since Lasers, but haven't listened to anything he's put out since then, well, they're fuckin idiots.

I can't say Nas fell off because I've only listened to his catalog up to Nastradamus. My opinion would be based on incomplete data.

I disagree with him needing an album of his first two's magnitude to propel him back into the thick of things. That's tryna catch lightning in a bottle. And to keep it a hunnid, the powers that be won't let him get the spotlight back. He could put out illmatic 2 and it wouldn't matter. He has his fan base and I don't see him gaining any new ones with this project.

People in general have skewed opinions about Lu. Some of them are genuinely Lupe's fault, while others are idiotic and baseless. I believe his intentions are good when it comes to the messages in his music, so that's what I fall back on, even when he does some loopy shit.

I, personally, don't have lowered expectations. I always feel like his next project is gonna be "that" project that propels him back to his rightful place in the spotlight. You know how these oscillating fans are though. Fickle as fuck.

More of a hope for the best, expect the worst scenario.

I thought it was a well known fact about Lasers. Lasers wasnt of Lupe's doing. Anybody that listens to Lupe before Lasers and than listens to Lasers can easily see industry politics. They forced their hand. This is why in the other thread I said The Cool was the beginning and unforeseen end of Lupe Fiasco becoming an overall artist.

The Cool was the perfect Lupe album. He had shown a lot of growth and was finding his lane. It would have continued had he had the chance to put out the Lasers album he wanted. Fastforward today, he is a disillusioned, "angry" rapper who at this point is just making albums to get off the label which they are still trying to force their hand. I'm surprised at this point he still has a career, dude been blackballed to hell.
