What exactly are you niggas that say Lupe fell off looking for? His lyricism has stayed true. Messages are still there. Production is the only thing that's really changed in his music. Your opinion is just that, but it seems to be a recurring complaint that no one ever expands on. It's almost like it's just popular to say so that's why people say it.

The critics say that I fell off, I acknowledge I slipped

But what do you call falling from space into a bottomless pit?

Soundtrakk might be on the album. He's on twitter promoting the album too. I wonder where matthew santos is tho. Havent heard from him snce shining down

Ah hell naw, hell naw. Lasers was absolutely awful, but even Lupe stans concede that point. I'm talkin bout more recent stuff. F&L 2 was pretty good and the loosies he's dropped since then have mostly been on point, yet I still hear how he's fallen off quite a bit. But you've already recognized that he's rebounded somewhat with his last joint.

Is he Mean & Vicious Lu, or Failure Lu? I don't know about that. But falling off from those heights to his current level is still light years beyond everyone else.

I suggest niggas familiarize themselves with some of his more recent works and download that mixtape ol' boy just posted cuz his skillset is still second to none.

Lasers was on atlantic tryng to make lupe pop. same thing they did to wack ass b.o.b and t.i. they were showing up at lupes shows giving him songs with beats and chorus already on them. they didnt let lupe do him. his lyrics were still on point. maybe not as great as his first 2 albums and mixtapes but still nce. but seriously how much heart would you put in those lyrics when the album is beng made this way? Some of those producers and singers didnt even want lupe on those songs

Look at words I never said, that hook is about relationship bullshit. typical skylar grey crap but lupe switched it to shit on the govt. Cant force art. They even was going to try it with this album. when you leave lupe alone he comes out with hot shit. i.e Food and liquor 2

I thought it was a well known fact about Lasers. Lasers wasnt of Lupe's doing. Anybody that listens to Lupe before Lasers and than listens to Lasers can easily see industry politics. They forced their hand. This is why in the other thread I said The Cool was the beginning and unforeseen end of Lupe Fiasco becoming an overall artist.

The Cool was the perfect Lupe album. He had shown a lot of growth and was finding his lane. It would have continued had he had the chance to put out the Lasers album he wanted. Fastforward today, he is a disillusioned, "angry" rapper who at this point is just making albums to get off the label which they are still trying to force their hand. I'm surprised at this point he still has a career, dude been blackballed to hell.

Man I don't give a fuck about what the excuse was ...that shit was wack and it hurt his reputation ...so when niggas say "he fell off" you don't need to look any further than that record to find the origins of those statements

He needs to drop another album on the same calibre as the cool or f&l 1 if he wants to get that excitement back in regards to how people attract themselves to his music

It hurt his rep with folks like YOU who use Lasers as the end all be all of his whole existence. He clearly made better music afterwards so what exactly is your beef? He doesn't need to drop another album on par wit the Cool & F&L to get anyone excited. He is in Atlantic records dog house which is exactly why I can guarantee there are tons of ppl who don't even kno he had an album coming out

But you've circumvented your entire argument of him falling off by acknowledging that his last album was good. For the people that say he fell off since Lasers, but haven't listened to anything he's put out since then, well, they're fuckin idiots.

I can't say Nas fell off because I've only listened to his catalog up to Nastradamus. My opinion would be based on incomplete data.
