First time I listened to this was a road trip from DC to Fl back in 06. A friend of mines gave it to me before I left and said I would like it. Up to that point I had only heard Kick Push and wasn't really feeling the skateboard stuff. Decided to throw this in when I was running out of music, ended up playing it 3 straight times on the way down. I just couldn't take it out the CD player. Down in Fl, someone hooked me up with the Fahrenheit 1st and 15th mixtape for the drive back. Best soundtrack to a road trip I ever had. Just Might Be OK is still one of my favorite all time songs. Its rare to have a album that no matter how many times I have heard it, or how long its been since it came out that I still skip a single track.
I think part of it for me is that, this was one of the first albums I listened to that I could easily relate to. I wasnt a big time drug dealer, didnt pimp, wasnt popping bottles in the club or anything else I was hearing at the time. So the images he painted in my head were things I could actually tie into real life.
