Atleast Lupe is living by his words and not "Dumbing It Down". Obviously though "Superstar" is a great song, it's clearly Pop and "Nothing On You" was nothing more than "Superstar II", eccentric singer with a pop hook over a happy beat. Lupe wasn't having none of that and they shelfed the album. But they have to put an album out, this is getting crazy, it's been damn near 3 years since "The Cool". I'm all for taking the time off for artistic creativity but 3 years Lupe? But it's obviously not his fault. Labels want balance. They say, "Ok, you want an artistic album, then give me atlest 3 or 4 singles to sell it". "Lazers" obviously had to be very artistic, which makes me hope it's released in the future. Poor Lupe, I guess he should of stayed independant. This is what happens when you sign to label folks. You loose a certain artistic freedom and Lupe is struggling with that right now.
