lyrically i think he might be the goat already but as an overall artist i don't think he'll ever get the respect he deserves

I got him as my favorites. I can't put him in my all-time list yet. Not with just two albums. Like I said, lyrically he's a beast. But what kills me is his beat selection. I loved F&L but when The Cool came out, he killed it lyrically but some of the beats off of The Cool was wack to me. I need another Lupe album though.

When Lasers gonna drop?

Lupe is definitely a great...but I won't make such projections b/c who knows what his growth rate will be 3 years from now. The Cool was not a GREAT album although it was really good in certain spots.

Hell no. Not unless he somehow changes his personality. Dude doesn't have any charisma and lacks emotion in his music.

If you think he's top 10 DOA or anywhere close to being GOAT your probably a young square

I have "The Cool" and have one of his mixtapes, maybe I have not listened to enough of his material, but with what I have listened to, Lupe is not as great as people keep saying. Just don't hear it.

...and that joint where he used that "opposite" flow

He's potentially a better lyricist then all those guys but does

lyricism=better? Is he a better all around rapper then those guys, what impact has he had on hip hop? Where's his classic album?

Is he as versatile?

Jay isn't that talented to me...Jay been in the game forever but wasn't known on the world stage until the 00s..he is known more for his *business moves* than actual skills...his fans confuse the two..bar for bar Lupe is better

Nas although talented tends to gets remidial and boring as he ages..the Nas of now isn't the Nas of old

I have proclaimed many times that biggie was your typical drug dealer punch line rapper that was elevated to GOAT status by his beef with Pac and his later death

Em....He's too emo or goofy he has no middle grounds...he raps about the same subject in different words....drugs..your mom and Kim...you love ya kids..and your internal problem...it's get wack

Why is Biggie called GOat and not Lupe

answer that

Because Biggie released two universal classic albums that helped create a movement, what kind of impact did Food and Liquor and The Cool have?

He hasn't done shit to be put ahead of Biggie. What he dropped two albums and a few hits, he hasn't transcended, nor did he set trends, create new styles or influenced a generation of rappers, like Biggie. Now I have respect for Lupe because he is one of the few dope rappers with skills in the mainstream but quit overrating Lupe and just take him for what he is.

Okay....I see what you're saying Brodie...

Better overall maybe not...

I always speak on lyrics tho because that's how I judge rappers...but I get what your saying

In that case, Canibus would be goat. lol Lyrics is only one aspect of being a mc!
