Since when did Banks become independent? Now all the excuses are coming out to defend this EPIC FLOP!!!

Dude EMI is major distributor it is not really a label.

They dont do MARKETING. acts like the Beatles go on there, because acts like the beatles and norah jones.

dont need marketing dollars so they take profit. Banks was only expecting to sell 200,000 total so he is on track to

make the goal

Basically I don't understand some of these niggas logic in the reason b/c with the current climate that Hip-Hop is in right now it bless to be hanging on by a thread. I would rather buy & listen to some music that I like regardless if it sells are high or low. It's not like the money is going in they pockets anyways. Personally, I'm glad I spent my money on the CD instead of buying a CD and being pissed off that I wasted my money on an over hyped album that I can't get my money back on.

there are plenty of artists who have gone multi-platinum and cant even drop a CD, thats even worse than flopping.

hi Lupe, hi Game, hi Jeezy. if you think they are all trash too, well ok, but its not uncommon for someone to be real successful and then not sell very well down the road.

it just makes no sense to me why someone who will never like Lloyd Banks would be in a Lloyd Banks thread. "trolling" isnt even fun, and its pointless, as well as immature.

I think the only track to me that Im not fully liking is "Where Im At".. Its a decent song.. but I feel its just there as a Bonus track because Em (Or Banks is on a throwaway Em track and turned it into his track) is on it

Lmao Idk why that's so hard to comprehend plus he doesn't have the 360 deals 90% of these rappers have

Same thing I said, thats the best track and they have it as a bonus??? lmao if they were smart, they would have had this as one of his singles and put it on the actual album to boost sales(of course sales doesnt matter...but sales keep your ass alive in the game sooo...i guess it does lol) mixtapes is where Banks lives..

With the EMI deal they just signed for distribution. Hes not required to be pinned down for X amount of albums & requirements in order to get his money. In this current climate this is THE BEST way to go about music. The majors have been losing money for the last 6 years, its scary wen the artist is seeing better returns than the label (w/ this in mind think of how the smaller guys who arent household names would hold up in this environment) & have to go about owning everything even shit their not entitled to SMH. I think politicalthug said it best, dude coulda did 80-130k the first week if he signed for a major but wats the point ? so he can get fame that he already has & sell more so he looks better to the fickle general public ? SMMFH.

Wait till 50 comes out cuz hes in on that too. Fif is guaranteed 400-500k the first week & is a int'l superstar so w/ that in mind imagine how good that is wen all of that is going straight to ur pocket. the tours alone will break records. The music industry is going thru extensive reorganization & these types of deals are wats allowing for that. The next major format is going to be digital sales.

Heard the album and its pretty good, Banks fans willbe happy.

But at the same time, a couple things, and this first thing where do people come up with this , oh he made money off the album stuff from? 1st off no one knows what these guys are getting and what kind of deal they have and what they spent on the album.

Next, okay Banks had lower sales, so he with EMI and he gets a bigger cut, so I guess his album was free to make right? Cuz when yall do this shit with other artists yall make sure to say well he gotta pay this producer, he gotta pay this feature. Last I saw Banks had a couple top notch producers and features so.....

Lastly, 50 is not guaranteed 400k 1st week, BISD sold 150k first week.

Still I like some cuts off the album, Banks did his thing, def got talent .

cosign but there is one thing your forgetting in marketing dollars. it cost money to get on the radio.

and if you arent getting thos emarketing dollars thats going to affect you radio place on the charts.

which is gonna result in less ppl coming to your shows in the states. I think BBB could have been a top 20-40 hit.

and anygirl and or start it up could have been bigger hits as well
