List of rappers better than Nas and why

Funny thread but Ima be serious on this......I have 4 rappers ahead of Nas in my top 5, for various reasons

1) 2pac: Maybe the deepest and most introspective artist hip-hop has ever seen, and yet can make songs about anything and everything: women, weed, fun, partying, politics, you name it, 2pac has done it. For his age and the massive amount of potential he had, he makes my number 1 list by far.

2) Jay-Z: legendary and versatile flow, especially in his earlier days, much better entertainment factor compared to Nas. Nas is more lyrical and deep but Jay has plenty of clever bars and entertainment value wise, to me is far ahead of Nas

3) Eminem: similar to Jay-Z, but Eminem actually has a lot of deep songs and his flow and freestyles are almost unmatched in history. Rarely has had an emcee outshine him on the mic

4) Biggie: Biggie may be pound for pound the most versatile rapper lyrically and flow wise I've ever heard. For a long time he was my number 1 rapper of all time. Behind 2pac, I still think Biggie had the most potential of any rapper I've personally ever listened to.

And then I got Nas. Nas would be more ahead if his entertainment value was higher, though I appreciate how lyrical and deep he is as an artist. But my top 4 have CDs I can play anytime, Nas I can't do that with as often compared to the others I named.

i stopped reading after you compaired nas to derrick rose and fat joe to gary payton lmao. Derrick rose has never had a high fg% in the playoffs and early in his career at best he was not illmatic. Nas proved his clutch play in the jay z beef and didn't tear his acl in the mid to late 90s flow wise.

Derrick rose is famous because of one yr, Nas is famous only because of niggas gassin Illmatic everything else is average. Fat joe is a model for consistency , like Gary Payton was. There was nothing clutch about ether, give jayz the credit for reviving the guys career.

What has Nas done to separate him self from ; fat joe, can, dmx, snoop and prodigy? Seriously ill wait

4. Snoop dogg

snoops albums>>>nas album , soggy style is better than illmatic. Snoop has been out just as long with more albums with replay value and has manage to evolve his sound and work on his craft. Nas has not worked on his craft since the day before Illmatic came out. And snoop has better songs period.

My nigga lol, I also have Doggystyle ahead of Illmatic. Illmatic is a trill album and very deep but entertainment value wise, I would much rather play Doggystyle. Maybe it's just more relatable to me.

Can't say I'd put Snoop ahead of Nas though, that's a brave opinion here on the IC.

Prodigy from 1994-2000 was a problem. I know it's blasphemy on the IC, but Prodigy in his prime speaks to me more than Nas, and Nas is in my top 10 all-time.

Fat joe ???? Really fat joe ? And then you said career too tat whole opening paragraph is full of shit lol. Obviously your a nas hater to say ask his albums are overrated. Dude just did a tour of his 1st album lol joe can't do that but to pick apart joe would be easy. But joe is that dude but nah

X had one and a half hot albums. The 1st lp >>>>everything he tried after so get him outta there

Cam no

And Pac isn't better at all he just influenced more fools. Half the people that know of pac know of his thug persona. Bar for bar rap for rap nas would shit on pac and it won't be close.

Lmao nigga said x has 4 classics foh

dmx dropped 2 classic albums in one year fam his first four albums all went multi platinum.

Can Ron has had a better career album wise, movie wise, and beat Nas in a battle with a legendary track ( hate me now ) and created dipset. Dipset > nas

Pax is better bc he is a better person than . Nas is liar

Fully understand your understand your stance but

Murda Muzik , Hnic 1 & 2, return of the Mac, product of the 80s, all classic material post 2000, Nas has about 5 songs post 2000 that is classic. Ill list them (ether, my will, take it slow, flyest gangstas, hate me now)

That is not enough to to hold up against (fat joe, prodigy, cam, x, snoop and jarule)

See, you're a real Prodigy fan. I'm just picky. I believe Prodigy's voice digressed alittle since The Infamy but lyrically, he still speaks knowledge.

personally I like mega over P and I put A.Z. over mega, Nas over A.Z.

Prodigy is my favorite QB rapper of all-time. his verse on Apostle's Warning was Prodigy at his zenith.

Snoops first album impact >>> nas career

6 hits songs , major hit songs his star power is so much bigger than Nas, Nas has no excuse for this

from 93 to around 95 the only solo act you compare to snoop would be biggie. snoop's entrance into the rap game was epic, not many can even come close to the hype surrounding that whole movement of early death row shits.

Nas holds his own when you bring up he all time greats, no matter how you might feel personally, he's still up there with the best.

damn my nigga started the thread with fat joe.

That's like showing up to an intense gunfight with a staple gun

Fat joe was/is trash cuz

through and through

but he was the first to tear up Diamond D's legendary beat. I know that Hov guy used this beat but still, this was strictly a DITC production.
