I think the struggle and hustle is the same no matter where you're from. I just think the south and west coast are car culture regions and a emphasis is placed on 808 drums, beats, etc with lyrics in the background. Up north is a subway, small spaces, etc type of culture where people listen to music on walkman, cd player, ipods, cellphones. Plus due to it being such a congested region where everyone is on top of each other, it's more competitive. People seem to forget that NYC is a few million people. The South is millions of people and a lot of states. Each state has their own shit going on. Miami had it's own sound, so did ATL, so did Memphis, do did Texas, and NO,etc.

I think his flow became more refined during the Squad Up days. That's when you can clearly hear the east coast influence (Jay-z, Clipse, them Philly niggas he hung with) in his sound. That's when i first started paying attention to Wayne on them Squad Up tapes.

Sqad up is when he became a top tier mc and iller with the bars, you can accredit some of it to east coast influence , but it's also largely due to age, he was only 15/16 in the hot boys days.

But he always had the "it" factor, listen to his flow on this shit, he normally always stood out from the pack with his wordplay and flow.

Naw bruh. They gon say the Carter 2

This nigga really said the Clipse.

Wayne had multiple albums and numerous mixtapes before they was on the scene. He didn't start getting the east coast vibe props till Carter 1 and that's when he started being around them. But the Sqad tapes came before all that.

Stop with the damn foolishness

Wayne had already dropped mutiple Sqad Up mix tapes when Clipse got on the scene. And was spitting on Lights Out (2000) and 500 degrees (2002)

So how can he Jack their flow when he was ready showing his growth at 17 on mutiple mixtapes before a nigga knew what a Clipse was.

His wordplay and wittiness started to REALLY come apparent on "Lights Out" IMO. Nikka was flowin' like a faucet on that bish.

I think Wayne and 2 Chainz just gave perspective of a East Coast listener. It's not about southern hate etc it's about what you like and standards already set. Also USmarine made valid points, though I would say the North East has more of walking culture, and 808's were introduced to the U.S through NY but NY went a different direction with the sampling culture.

Maybe since two southerners made the statement it wont be viewed as East coast bias.

Ok...so u just gonna overlook the fact that I said he DIDN'T jack their flow...all I really said was I could hear how they influenced him at a certain point in his career. Wayne fanclub sensitive as fuck, damn
