@jono no one is saying all African Americans to go back to Africa. What we are saying some of us should go back. I think we should have a strong population here especially from an economic standpoint.

Why? Again, we have absolutely zero obligation to Africa or Africans. Going "back" for what purpose?

and this premise is also only relative if you subscribe to white history that every black person in the america's had ancestors who came over on slave boats, i'm not denying the slave trade one bit but to give the white man that much credit is foolish. there very well was who you would call blacks in america before the white man got here, so are the descendants of those people obligated to africa as well? I know that those ancestors traveled from africa to get here so i'm not playing semantics but the thing is, we put civilization in motion, don't limit yourself to anything. and if Africa is in your path by all means go. One of Ol dirty Bastards ancestors was one of the ones who sold parts of manhattan through a bullshit treaty. we should set claim to all not just some, no matter where you go there you are.

utter foolishness there exists no real hard proof that africans lived in the americas before the slave trade

This identity crisis african americans suffer from is so sad

like I said ol dirty bastard, the rapper, one of his great great grandfathers was one of the natives who he could trace his lineage to. now you have to ask is black just what we think an african is? because there are many kinds of so called black people if you want to be general.

do you know that the texas school system is trying to remove slavery from it's history books? they are going to say that those people were migrant "workers" not slaves, immigrants. so if history as recent as 150 some odd years is being tampered with for political reasons, what makes you think that it hasn't happen or isn't still going on?

The admixture between africans and native americans is overblown there are different types of black people but it sounded like you were referring to the " they came before columbus" theory which is totally unsupported with credible evidence. It's another way to escape our african origins.

The state of Texas can tamper with whatever IT WANTS it matters not because THEIR is a preponderance of evidence that can prove them wrong. The whole black people are native to the americans nonsense does however not have a preponderance of evidence to support it.

I think you talking about the mongoloid native americans who people call indians. i'm not talking about them family.

I think this all goes back to Roots the problem for a long time is that some American blacks simply don't know where to go to trace their lineage so it becomes a moot point and the roots we build in America start there

This is a lie. If you'd like, there are tests that can find out what ethnic group your paternal and maternal lineages stem from, or if you'd like to know what percentages of different African ethnic groups you come from there's admixture tests etc etc.... welcome to the technological age.

This is how I can definitely say my roots are in Benin heavily and in Angola heavily.

Why cause I want those resources and take the power to RULE THE WORLD WITH AN IRON FIST!!!!!

Lol, because of my connection to the land of my ancestors. To get in touch with our ancestral roots. Is that a huge problem? There are those who have done the voyage.

And there are Africans who are leaving America and Europe to head back home to rebuild it as well. I have to find the article, but the diaspora are coming back.

Every race of human originated in Africa so why are we the only race that feels obligated to go back...

'I ain't leavin without my 40 acres..'

every race did not originate in africa they mutated outside of africa in other words they became what they are outside of africa

So wtf did we do and how is that any different?

Study genetic mutations and phenotypes.
http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/handbook/mutationsanddisorders/genemutation
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK21955/
http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evolibrary/article/mutations_05

There you go brotha. Two from government website and one from Berkeley University. Peer Reviewed.

Brother no disrespect but fuck yo links

HUMAN evolution tells us that we ALL evolved from a common ancestor that originated in Africa. Mutations occur randomly and can be responses to external stimuli so I propose that African Americans can be looked at as a mutated version of Africans just as Europeans (cave men) are a mutated version of Africans.

So again, why are we the only ones obligated to go back?

Any mutations that may have sprung up that are advantageous enough to gain enough priority to assimilate and differentiate AA's from african offspring would take many hundreds of years. especially considering how many of us there are here, and how little time we've been here in a genetic sense.

Our only difference in that small amount of time stems from our mixing with the other races.

your understanding of genetics is infantile, at best.

So your point is that eventually over time you will agree with what I proposed?

Smart dumbass

You're not understanding, genetic variations take time over in a specific area in a different ecology than the one they gained their phenotype. It takes more than almost 400 years and some of us haven't been here that long. And it's longer than 1000 years for a shift that would make us a different ethnicity.

Again, so OVER TIME you will agree to what I'm saying, right? If it's a proven fact that mutations occur over time (and I dont got US going back no time soon) then after all that time will there still be a case for us to go back to Africa?

Over time, but it takes a lot longer than 500 years for this to occur. This is what you are not understanding. Like another poster said you cannot compare 10,000 years to a mere 300 years.

I get that bro.

Sounds like a good idea.

Just a little bit of background information.

your maternal and paternal lineages are determined by the mitochondrial dna of the x and y chromosomes.... so for men you're able to find out both.

for women, since they have 2 X chromosomes, they can only find their maternal line.

for this test, I recommend www.africanancestry.com

for the admixture test, which tells you what your exact racial composition is, I highly recommend 23andme.com.

if you're trying to decide which one to go with, I would recommend 23andme, because not only do the admixture tests tell you your composition, but it also let's you know if you have any genetic dispositions to certain diseases among other things.

if genetic confidentiality is a concern of yours, know that these 2 companies do not share your genetic information unless subpoena'd by a court of law.

If there are any other questions, let me know yall.

You're right and I should've been more informative... check my post before yours.

look most niggas are not gonna be in a rush to move to a different continent. I mean damn before u send me over there can you at least give me a country and a city first?

The ugly truth is that Africa in the dominant society of today represents being powerless. So the cold hearts of ambition are going to go where the odds are more in they favor.

I will teach you niggas the difference between “a part" and “apart".

I used the correct terminology

a·part

əˈpärt/Submit

adverb

1.

(of two or more people or things) separated by a distance; at a specified distance from each other in time or space.

"his parents are now living apart"

synonyms: away from each other, distant from each other

"the villages are two miles apart"

2.

to or on one side; at a distance from the main body.
