Let's Be Honest If Get Rich Or Die Trying Is A Classic Then So Is Carter III

GRODT is a classic and I'd go with Carter 2 instead of C1or C3 for a classic. Lollipop was his biggest hit, but it can't compare to In The Club. 50 & Wayne have 1 classic a piece.

While we're on the subject loved College Dropout & Late Registration, hated Good Life or whatever the fuck that CD called. Just my opinion!

Carter 3 and carter 1 are wayne's best albums

Carter 3 has aged well tho objectively

C3 hasn't had the impact that GRODT had nor the cultural impact

GRODT is a good album tho some of the production hasn't aged well

meh.

i think C3 is a near classic

As far I as I know 50 wrote his raps on Get Rich, where as Wayne was saying somebody else's lyrics at this point, how are you going to have a classic album saying somebody else's raps. I too would have a classic album if I had Lupe ghost writin' for me.

Carter 3 is a below average album

Get Rich Or Die Tryin is a classic album you can play to this day top to bottom. It had great lyrics, great hooks and great production

Lil Wayne doesn't have a classic album

Carter 2 is A classic...And If he would've protected The Original Carter 3 tracks better and released them it would've been an undebatable classic imo

I don't think it's a classic but it's his best album easily

GOATEST POST.

IMO musically I don't believe neither is a classic they both didn't age well especially grodt but that's the point I was trying to convey grodt isn't a classic becuz of how great the music was but more so becuz of the hype, success, and impact...but when it comes to carter 3 ppl bypass all of the same criteria and just go to it wasn't a classic cuz the music wasn't classic and I was more getting at why the difference in the grading scale??? Ppl acting like carter 3 wasn't the center piece of 08-09...like I said this isn't me calling either a classic or saying neither are just tryna get a discussion started.

nice discussion but a mass amount of people disagree with you. if this was a poll then it would've been a landslide. good topic though

If the music wasn't that good it would've gotten the Carter 3 treatment. Agree or no?

To be honest idk becuz the hype that 50 had at that time he would of had to drop a complete dud to mess that up I mean I believe if he would of dropped the massacre as his first album but just add in the club to that album with the hype he had we'd probably be calling that album a classic.... I'm not saying the music isn't good becuz it is but is the music classic???

There's personal classics, hip hop classics, and music classics

GRODT is a music classic...Carter 3 is none of the above

Carter 1>Carter 2> Like Father Like Son>Carter 3

You're backtracking now. Your logic was that GRODT only got classic status because of other factors besides the music. Now granted the Carter 3 wasn't a bad album, but if the collection of music was solid. It'd get the same hype but it wouldn't get classic status kinda like the Carter 3. The Massacre had close to the same hype and no one is calling that a classic.

How am I backtracking my logic didn't change in my reply....the music was good i never denied that but would you call the music classic??? If you do then I have no arguments with that but when most, not all but most, ppl refer to grodt being a classic they give the credit to everything else then they put the music last....

Carter 1 is his best album and classic. I bump it in the whip from time to time had played get rich in Damn near 10 years

I think the music is classic. There are many albums that had hype that came and went. And no one is giving any album classic status if the music wasn't classic. That's why the Carter. 3 fell short.
