I think its simple as this... You take Em out of Hip Hop it doesnt cause a major Rift take Pac, Big, Jay-Z, Nas out of Hip Hop and Rap as we know it will not exist....

You're wrong. His mark on rap is very instrumental. Because you cant relate doesnt mean he hadnt made a major rift. A white dude who can spit better then your favorite rapper who was able to sale records just like big, jay z and the greats from the past, and put other people on (50 cent, slaughterhouse) hadn't been seen nor is it a everyday thing.

and befor someone say sit...Only on the net you get "only white ppl like eminem."

The Question is simple and very Simple. You Take Em out of Hip Hop not just Music but Culture also how does it change?

Something meaningful plz not no shit like "We wasnt dying our hair Blonde until Em"

first off your bold statement does not apply to me. I'm black, i can careless how a person looks on the music tip. this hip hop is a culture, that has been shared, grown, helped develop by all races. do we forget rick rubien and the beastie boys help put def jam on the map? The one label that help birth hip-hop into the commerical status it has now. and they were white ....

again it's a culture that is shared by many races and approached differently by many races. katz in England aint spitting what kids in the south are spitting they are gonna give you hip hop the way they see it. so who are you or anyone to tell them they arent hip hop or they are "one dimensional" for instance??-damn near everyone is one dimensional, everyone in rap only talks about what they know-cause you cant or dont relate doesnt make the artist any less.

like i said..this white dude came into hip hop and made his mark by hanging with his counter parts that are mostly black.., he more then likely introduced other whites who probably werent gonna listen to hip hop or see what other artist in this genre had to offer..he helped a another black artist in 50 cents receive major success. he helped a super producer further his success....he introduced to most katz that like to hear good lyrics to royce 5'9", he's helping other lyrical katz get on. He used his successed to launch a very successful radio stations that not only employs other blacks but furthers the cause of hip hop music.

IF u cant see eminem made his mark or needing to be in hip hop then you're lost.

What u said didnt answer the question. When i consider someone GOAT it has to do with EVERYTHING! Not just how many records one sold or just based on skill (Reason Canibis is nowhere near my top anything) There's no denying his skill i dont care if he was purple because skill is skill. Em is very skilled and can rap, well used to know how to rap (He's nothing like his former self). But his influence did not effect the culture as much as Nas, big, Jay, Pac, Scarface, Ice Cube and many others. He doesnt have Classic albums that influenced other Classic albums. He came in and made a lane for himself and those affiliated with him only and barely.

And i repeat You take Em out of Hip Hop how does it Change?

If u need examples then If you didnt have Nas Illmatic wouldnt have been made, if Illmatic wasnt made no Ready to Die. See the pattern?

Let's compare the whole Spurs Team to Kevin Durant, that sounds like fun, tho.

Terrible analogy

Comparing a team to an individual person in a team sport =/= Comparing the quality produced from two entities in hip hop.

breaking them up individually doesn't even help eminem's case because rae and ghost deserves a top 10 mention before him.

Eminem is my favorite rapper to keep it 100, but I don't think he's the best of all time like some people do...But to say that he's not a top 10 rapper is just fucking stupid...He only has one bad album IMO (Relapse) and he has one classic (Marshall Mathers LP)...I agree that he has too many throw away songs, but the songs like "Way I Am", "Lose Ya Self", "Not Afraid" etc. out weigh the bullshit jawns...I'm not going to argue with niggas about their opinion because we all have our own views on rap music, but I'll bet money that in a cypher Em can hang with any group of rappers you name.

I'll say this in terms of influence...you look at the game right now theres more people that seem to be influneced by Eminem getting attentinon (Odd Future, Hopsin, Shit load of White Mc's getting deals) than someone like Nas (for now) so that kills that whole influnece arguement.

In terms of lyrical skill he's top ten worthy. In term catalouge hes not even close.

There are plenty of rappers that can beast in cyphers that aren't top 10 material.

I get it being debated if he's top 10, but saying what would change if he didn't rap is silly to me. He put on 50 who was the most popular rapper out for a while. G-Unit was one of the most popular groups for a minute. But being real there are other people on top 10 list that you can say if they didn't rap it would change stuff less than if Eminem never came around.

first off, "when i consider someone GOAT" that's your opinion, on a matter that's very subjective when talking about artist and their style of music. and I nor the threadstarter said anything about him being the goat. I also didnt mention his record sales because that is subjective too, inwhich the fore mention acts like jay z, nas etc have benefit from, from pervious success. aka, fans are gonna buy their ish regradless. I will agreee the old em is much better then the new one. but again i broke down how his influence has helped the culture, i said him bring in other fans-which these same fans probably started listening to other hip hop artist who happen to be black. without em, you may not or hip hop may not have gotten a classic album out of 50cents like his debut album, dr. dre may not have further his success. and etc. and again his first album was a classic...because u dont relate doesnt mean it wasnt a classic. and because nas, big, jay influenced hip hop the way you feel they did...doesnt mean em, or katz like busta, luda, or t.i., outkast hadnt done the same...again it's your opinion

u have no true facts and definitely dont share the opinions of his peeers, because it is well documented how his peers feel about him and his influence on the rap game.

where's his classic?

or, where's his 5 mic album? lol even Kim got a 5 mic album, and the dirty word "Lauryn Hill", she got a 5 mic album? the only thing Eminem recorded that's worth talking about is MMLP, other than that, he should never be mentioned in a top 10 debate.

All classics that cant be argued about

Dont worry, people will still try...

He's nice. No doubt. But he got that music you gotta play on your ipod, sit down, and really listen to catch what he is saying. I'm not trying to do that most of the time.

It took me a good 2 years to fully appreciate Recovery

MMLP & The Eminem Show can be considered his magnum opus.

it is what it is. yall just dont accept it for whatever personal reasons you may have.

At the end of the day, the impact from those two albums ALONE solidify dudes top 10 status.

oh word?

those albums are far from classics...they sold well, but that's about it

and if people want to bring impact into the category, a lot of these rap dudes dropped albums that had impact...so that "impact" bullshit wears thin

There's an age limit for being a racist?

You cant be a teenage racist because you dont know any better(same reason they dont charge you as an adult for getting arrested) Once you start hitting those mid 20's, your fair game for anything.

Just now noticed this comment when the thread got unburied.

My nigga..................... this has got to be the stupidest shit i ever heard. Teens can't be considered racist??? Mind you, a teen is anywhere from 13-19. So 16 u can drive a car (a heavy, powerful, automobile), 17 u can get a ticket to any R rated film, 18 you can buy cigarettes and you can get into some clubs, but u can't be a RACIST?!?!? Think about that my friend. Smh @ having to graduate to Racist level. And your analogy about being charged or arrested depending on age is retarded because you can't get arrested for being racist regardless of age. Nobody can be arrested for being racist. So that is not the same thing.

Sorry.... I'm just in shock someone out there believes this.
