Yeah I am positive there are women unknowingly dealing with an abusive man. It's not like a badge of honor they wear on their sleeves and I doubt most will be upfront about it. And most won't tell if they aren't asked. So until another violent episode occurs, if it does, they won't really know unless they pick up on other signals which could lead one to assume they are unstable.
