KRIT just got released by Def Jam. What should his next move be?

I dont understand why this is even a question....he's been building his own brand since the beginning and we all know nobody is gonna get behind him like some of the more "popular" artists....Def Jam was a stepping stone

The best move is indie.

absolutely...if you already got name recognition, and a little capital to work with...indie is a blessing....you can literally set up shop online, and work whatever city your manager book you...and all that money coming home

I wouldn't say no one would get behind him. I don't know if he has made the right decisions to get to the level he needed to be. To me KRIT should of signed to a southern label that knows his demographics.

Stay indie and keep doing what he's doing music wise. Don't chase popularity, and don't try to force a hit. An east coast label doesn't know how to market an artist like Krit, but he earned a few more fans from the relationship.

He's got a solid fanbase, and should be able to tour and eat well for a good while. He's a king down south, and can sell out a show anywhere down here. He makes timeless music. His ceiling is UGK recognition, and at the very least, he'll be regarded as a southern legend.

I can't wait for his next album or mixtape!

been banging KRIT since 2010. He can follow the Curren$y model and constantly drop quality material and keep touring. Never thought the Def Jam deal would really help him anyway...it's not like its 1998. He doesn't need a "major" label when he can keep it indie and keep all his cash in house.

Krit has the potential to have a Tech N9ne type of independent movement, he works hard and is quite talented, he's better than most of these new guys (wale, big sean, drake, etc).

Ok name a southern label that has done right by any signed artists in the past 10 yrs....shit 15....he's too grown for that

"another nigga other nigga name on yo chain and they call me a slave"

Aside from that I can't think of any label he would actually fit the mold on....he's truly in his own lane

Multi mane....its better this way

Ay while we on topic of Def jam and all this label mishandling....

Anybody got any excuses for why we don't see Jeremih AT ALL??

Late Nights jams front to back and is one of the best "newer" R & B albums period IMO

I may be sleep but did we even get a video??

I saw the plug on the Google music commercial but that was it

Is anybody even up there at Def Jam or do they work from home or some shit??

Def Jam dropped the ball big time smh. He could've been their flagship artist.

I think it's harder for them to promote him. Because he gives away his music for free, it doesn't give ppl incentive to pay for his actual albums when they can just wait for the mixtapes for free. Hard to justify putting a mil behind him - an artist who gives away 2-3 free albums with original music. That was prolly defjam logic to cut their losses and let him walk. KRIT is a good investment for himself independently but a bad investment for others. He doesn't pen hit records and gives away too much free music.

I don't think that's a big enough of an excuse to not promote him. Put some bread behind his single and get behind him.
