It's not gonna happen. Why is the NBA dragging their feet, Seattle should be next in line to get a team either by expansion or movement.

Wizards lawst.

What little market share they got bout to get chopped.

naw...NOVA is part of the "DMV" and they have no association with the rest of VA......Virginia as a whole is considered skins territory though...but basketball isn't as territorial as football is

It won't happen. Kinda hard to explain if you don't know the area. But the way the roads are setup won't allow it. The interstate has tunnels and bridges and shit that get backed up all the time. And they were talkin before about how much each city (in hampton roads) would throw in to help the team (facilities and stuff) since they'd all benefit from it. Be hard to figure out.

You cant put a pro team in ACC country. Yeah i know there aint an ACC team in VA beach/portsmouth area but anything between miami and maryland is college basketball country. If charlotte cant get people out in a new arena it sure aint gunna be better in VA where you best belive the kings not gunna be a contender anytime soon.

My grandparents/pops grew up in portsmouth and i know they cant support a pro team.

Charlotte sucks though

All you have to do is win games and the bandwagon fans will come running.

but their market size is bigger than norfolk. remember an nba team isnt just about who shows up to the arena but how large the market is. also you have to be okc hot to have bandwagon fans you cant just be middle of the pack. hell even the storied celtics up here in the northeast werent getting good reg season numbers in the late 90's and 2000s and peirce by himself was talking them a few rounds into the playoffs. You gotta make it to the conf final to get bandwagons which the kings will not do in any conference.

No matter if the kings aree still in sac town aneheim seattle or va they stillgonna suck hella ass and the city would go bankrupt like sac trying to keep the team alfloat

Virginia Beach, man traffic is gonna be out of this world if they put a basketball team in va beach

Dude i went to high school lived in va beach for 5 years, nigga came back to dallas with all kinds of stories abut the women up there...he had a camera fulla bad brawds too,i knew it was some notches in Va but damn.

I don;t think the move will happen the maloof brothers are not gonna let that happen.

Every time there's talk of an expansion franchise or a team moving VA is the first place brought up....I think owners dangle our name out there just to make other cities up there offers

Think Hampton Roads is the largest metropolitan area without a pro sports team. That's why people like to throw it out there. Won't happen though

Suffolk is big as shit. Still think traffic would be what stops it. Seen how the Midtown tunnel (think that's the right one) gets comin from Norfolk. That shit just gets backed up for a long way just from too many cars. And then Suffolk would hold the arena. And they'd probably want the other 757 cities to contribute to it since they'll benefit so much from it. But then it's "who throws in how much?" "Why should I have to throw in anything? it's not in my city"

Damn! Hampton Roads coming up. This is a slap in the face to the Richmo

Nope I think middle New York state and some other East Coast spots.

I beleive Austin is bigger that the Hampton roads area.

@Trill_Texan I was stationed there for 4 years. I complained about it but if wasnt stationed in ATL I would have been complaining. I miss the beach :(

There would be traffic but it wouldnt as bad if the team was in va beach....midtown stay backed because its just one lane coming and going thats why they need to expand it two lanes but they're more worried about these damn tolls we dont need

Looked it up, you're right. Austin is the biggest one without a sports team. They're the 34th largest metropolitan area. Hampton Roads is 36 (Indy is between them). So I guess we're the 2nd largest area without a sports team.

I think they can support it.
