Do you feel like a response has to be direct, ie mentioning Kendrick's name, or would releasing a dope new song with BARS be sufficient? In other words can it just be some fresh shit where someone is raising the bar lyrically or do you expect it to be provocative on purpose like Kendrick's verse?

“Rap, Hip Hop has always been mad competitive,” K.R.I.T. said Tuesday. “It's exciting because it was probably crazier for his fans, for him to mention my name among rappers that people would consider top tier, [rappers] people kind of look at as being the future and my name just randomly popped up. So what I got an opportunity to see a little bit last night and this morning, was just people that probably never tweeted me before, whether it be negative or positive. For me, it was like, ‘Thank you for the promotion.’"
Kendrick Lamar's verse may introduce new fans to K.R.I.T. who were previously unaware of his skills as a lyricist, he said.
“It let people know that, ‘Yeah, I'm from the South and yeah, I'm country but you ain’t going to take me lightly," K.R.I.T. said. "Aint none of these rappers going to take me lightly on a record.’ And [Kendrick Lamar] know that. So that's why my name ended up on that list. If you think about ‘1 Train,’ or any record, I’ma give my all. People know that I'm a lyricist and I can compete with some of the best and it is what is. I appreciate the shout out because that’s really what it is. It’s a competitive sport; it’s a gladiator sport. Don't nobody want to get murdered on a record. That just it is what is. So I don’t know, brother. I was like, ‘Hell yeah.’ It is what it is. Thank you for the shout out and shout out to all the fans that he may have that didn't know about my music and now they gon’ go back and listen to records and check out ‘1 Train,’ and want to know why he felt the need to mention my name. And I’m 100% sure he probably gets tired of going to barbershops and hearing my name mentioned where he is and vice-versa. It's all good man. It's all within the sport.”

The rest? On the low Drake is more built for this than yall's saviors Krit, j cole, wale, etc...But make no mistake...none of the new guys have 'it'. You can almost read the accompanying 'this is just rap it aint no beef' interview that will follow. ...fuk these overrespecrful nggas. They all soft.
So they supposed to beef with a nigga who made it clear the verse wasn't meant as some "let's beef" shit?
Uh, yes ngga. Yes. Thats pretty much exactly what I'm saying.
By 'beef' i mean just go in lyrically...like your prepared to make this ngga mad and never talk to em again...no caveats...no explanations...no 'its all love, thats my brother, its compettion, blah blah blah'. Like you prepared to not fuk with NONE of these nggas
These new nggas wana be part of EVERY circle. TDEMMGOVO foh Lol
Its moments like this where i appreciate 50. Where all the lone wolfs at? Where all the anti-social rappers
Hence why i said: Give me Budden and Pusha and no one else. Thye will make this shyt UNCOMFORTABLE.
You see where 50 being anti-social has gotten his music career right? No release date in sight for how many years now? Like me and others keep saying, you can be competitive as you want w/o being disrespectful. You talking about Budden when Budden is part of Slaughter House which is what again? Oh yeah a group of solo rappers with careers already who came together to form a group. Pusha who not only been part of a group his whole career minus the past 2 years but also joined up with Good Music instead of doing something independent for his solo stuff. You picked the two rappers who represent what you say you hate.
@ bolded: Nggas, boy i tell you. Do we really wanna use 50 cent as an example of how NOT to win in the rap game? Lol
Lets not use a 3 year snapshot to undercut a 10+ yr career.
@ undrlined- Yea, you keep thinkin that. You think Nas got to a level of Ether b/c of his respect for Jay z? Pressure makes diamonds (no pun). Exactly how hard do u think a ngga gon go at somebody he goin to lunch with the next day?
Same thing is goin on in the NBA! All the teams that have given Lebron problems have grown to literally dislike this ngga (Pacers, Celtics, Mavs)
Meanwhile Kevin "I'm tired of being 2nd place" Durant is workin out with Lebron all summer, wonderin why he cant pass him...
I digress, but i trust u get the point.
The spurs gave the heat problems and they didn't dislike lebron

Ok So I heard Lupe's "SLR 2" and I liked it. He basically rapped over a trap style beat with a lazy flow purposely but look at the bars. He basically told Kendrick he needs to sit down and he ain't on Jay and NaS level. Basically he told Kendrick he ain't on Lupe's level yet so stop comparing yourself to the greats. I like the creativity of the track. Lupe is one solid album away from being back in his spot. He needs to focus and he will have all us back on the bandwagon. We all know Lupe can get in that a$$ lyrically when he wants to. I liked his response and the creativity. Joell just went for Kendrick's neck lyrically so those responses I liked thus far.

bitch nigga... put it in a rap...
edit:
you a fucking retard or a lying bitch if u dont take these bars as an open challenge...
I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you niggas
Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you niggas
They dont wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you niggas
What is competition? I'm tryna raise the bar high
Who tryna jump and get it? You better off tryna skydive

...and then proceeding to tell the niggaz he mentioned that he was gonna make sure even they hard core fans had never heard of them...yeah he wasn't dissin the dudes he named at all...........Alrighty then!
I think the word diss is being used to loosely personally. As said he wants a challange, a competition doesn't have to be a diss. It's these fruity homotional niggaz that will catch feelings n respond with some shot after shot at Kdot/Black Hippy type response.
