Just in case anyone got the wrong idea from my post, I do not think Papoose is irrelevant. I havent even had the chance to address that. That's number 1. Poose and Cass are beasts lyrically. I prefer Cassidy, but that's just me. I would even go out on a limb and say Cass could wash Kendrick, but that's a whole other story of personal preference. With that said, I feel Pap had more of a reason to respond to Kendrick due to that King of NY shit.
But there's a difference between Kendrick vs. Drake or Cole and Kendrick vs. Papoose or Cass and ya'll niggas know it. Stop trying to make it out to something that its not. Who the hell is Kendrick's priority target, bruh? Really? Who do people WANT to see spar. Do you remember a time period in which Pap had a strong standing in the game, musically? Ever? This is coming from a Pap fan. He is simply not a priority target, and that is a fact. To you and I, he may be the lyricist of the century, but at some point, a line is drawn. Go back to my first post of the thread. The difference between the listed niggas and the non listed niggas is a healthy balance between musicianship and bars. Pap is missing one of the two, which is why niggas is feeling like he's unqualified. Cass on the other hand, is arguably another story.
The reason why Drake HAS to respond to Kendrick is because musically, they are on the same tier; the very top. Difference is, Kendrick is prepared to scrap for his spot and Drake is pretending like Kendrick, Cole and all the other talented young niggas with that balance I mentioned are beneath him.
On top of all of this shit, the BET Cypher for all we know at this point could very well be shots at Pap and Drake. It sounds like that to me, just from the clip.
