In a degree like manner? Breh, your degree don't make you better than no man. Read my other posts for a "degree like" perspective.

Knowledge isn't a contest or race and the most knowledgable isn't always the most articulate.

You sound very condescending, and in doing so, you're coming across as the same type of individual you're trying to demean. No, we don't necessarily expect rappers to be articulate, at least I don't, but I don't feel like it's too much to ask them to be aware.

Aware of their platform. Aware of their unique situation, which may be both an asset and a hindrance when discussing topics that require scalpel-like precision otherwise be misconstrued. Aware that whether they like it or not, they will be looked up to by some of our youth, so their words may carry a gravity that is almost unparalleled. Aware that everything we say or do is over analyzed and misunderstood by white media.

It's a lot to be aware of, but this is stuff you learn growing up as a black person. It's instilled in us when we're told to keep family business in house. It's instilled in us, as men, when we're told not to bring her home if she can't use our comb. It's instilled in us when we're told we have to double our work efforts just to get half of what they have. I can almost guarantee that at least 90% of us have been told these things, in one form or another, throughout our years. These new niggas just insist on being difficult, or "new black" and try to deviate from these proven truths only to be shocked when it doesn't work and it all turns out to be pipe dreams and wolf tickets.
