I think we need to re-evaluate how we look at ourselves. I understand your sentiment but at the same time...

white people take elements of our culture allllllllllll the damn time. They're never acused of self-loathing or lack of self-respect. They take parts of others culture and mix it with what they do and white wash it up and keep it moving. When a black person does the same thing they get accused of all kinds of mental illnesses and all that shit.

This talk about how Black people hate ourselves and don't respect ourselves is getting out of hand. It's becoming like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Black people are getting quick to bash Black people either overtly or subtlety and other Black people are getting quick to cosign it. In the other thread people were cosigning statements made by the grand wizard of the Ku Klux klan. THAT'S more of a problem than hair extensions.

Black women wear their weaves very differently then white people. Some do straight hair, but it just mimics when they straighten their own hair. Nothing wrong with that. It's like saying a black man can't brush his hair or get waves. Are you saying no black women have hair that resembles the weaves that they wear? Are you saying that white women have perfect hair and don't need work and don't wear weaves and wigs? Not to mention, black women use weaves mostly for braids which is a very African tradition. I even know one girl that used extensions to start off her dreads. Her real hair eventually took over. You acting like they bleaching their skin like some Jamaicans and Africans been doing. Personally, i rather natural (when i say that, i mean none weave, but all hair takes work), but i'm not gonna hate on a fine sista with a weave.
