Kendrick Lamar Album Discussion 4-14-17

6.5-7/10 for me. I think it's his worst album. Not that bad of a statement considering I think very highly of TPAB, GKMC, S80 and OD. There's some great songs on here but as a whole, I'll come back to this album the least. Feel and Duckworth are the standouts. I think the beats are driving people's feelings more than the words.

I feel the same way, like lyrically this aint even that impressive or nothing. Nothing really stands out to me

The connection of blood and duckworth is that duckworth is the end and basically wants you to restart the album. Not deep to me so far.

Bought it for my road trip. I've listened to it for 5 hours of driving and I just keep letting it play from front to back. The only song I don't really mess with is Yah. Can't say where I'd rank it among his other works yet but I'm definitely a satisfied customer.

U got Rosenberg calling Kenny the GOAT.. Like c'mon this is all to generate interest to get a whole bunch of people to either buy or stream the album and inflate the first week numbers.

Now I don't doubt that a lot of folks in here actually like this album. But there are also a lot of people out there claiming this thing is a some sort of masterpiece when in all actuality it isn't. This isn't to be confused with me saying that Kenny is a wack rapper. Kenny can rap his ass off.. But this shit simply isn't that good to me.. There are a couple of albums that have come out this year already that are better IMO..
