They changed the way players dressed...brought more emphasis on palming and double dribbling calls, and they probably dont even let players have cornrows anymore on the low.

And its well know certain officials (steve javie, Tim donaghy just to name two) had it in for iverson those arent bonafide rule changes, but the refs are controlled by david stern and he knew of this behavior by his officials....what GREAT nba player has been treated the way iverson has.....mind you there have been woman beaters, rapists, alcoholics in this league

BECAUSE HE PALMED THE BALL FLAGRANTLY.. hello

and none of that bullshit.. bout him dressing has anything to do with "RULE CHANGES" because of iverson.. on the court.. you acting like they outlawed the dunk.. put in the 5 second basketrule.. come off it son

This is a pure hate thread. Like ya'll wasnt on the court wanting to be like AI....you are all products of this mans legacy

But AI was an ill player...john stockton, tiny archibald, or most other great players wouldnt have been blackballed because of ego...theres 1200 players that think certain things, but they aint getting kicked out of the league

Nah, im just not taking this too seriously....But i do remember when tim donaghy did an interview about how AI was viewed by alot of the refs in the league. So that makes me feel that it was the league as a whole that had issues with the image he brought to the league

Theres no doubt certain people had a problem the way AI carried himself.. and were fearful for no reason.. ist called ignorance.. but his attitude coupled with his appearance didnt do any favors. it still doesnt absolve Ai of killing his own career.

I agree, but did AI kill his own career wasnt the thread topic, because i would agree. But i just see that the NBA feared a man with cornrows thinking he was bigger than the game. And they woldnt have no negro dictating their league unless they made more off it than him..Jordan was the cockiest mofo alive, but he put butts in the seat......And its his career, and he made alot of money.

Is he a first ballot HOF though?

Of course.. he was a baller.. but he was a loser.. he should have been a point guard instead of a 2.. and should have never been a centerpiece ..

i think him winning an MVP playing the 2 says otherwise...AI put in work in a big mans game.....He just ran into the lakers.

All while not having a solid number 2 player

he never wanted anyone around him.. Period.. through 10 years he couldnt co-exist with anyone else that needed the ball in their hands .. its excuses.. they built the team around ai.. for ai.. to flourish as a scorer..

Not long enought for Ai to stay or change his game for the betterment of the team.. thats the most talented team Ai ever played on and still couldnt get right.

I doubt he didnt want anyone around him...i think couldnt get was the issue. Who was his best teammate Mutombo? And Old Toni Kukoc?

Coleman was serviceable..

but Jerry Stackhouse and larry Hughes were straight up scorers.. Hughes was a as petulant as Ai..he clashed with everyone...

So they surrounded him with egoless go getters hustlers/rebounders and shooters

i read an article where larry brown said that Allen Iverson was difficult to deal with because he Wasn't willing to play team ball
and how it didn't make any sense to put any other scorers on the team, if Allen wasn't going to pass to them....so he decided to surround Allen with
a bunch of role players and defenders.......

to be honest with u........

Denver actually upgraded when they traded A.I and got Chauncey

I agree, Chauncey made the "team" better, but AI and Melo were good together too.
