Allen Iverson got blackballed. Its proven in the way they changed all the rules and images that he basically promoted in the game. There are certain ball players that shouldnt be coming off the bench...could you havbe imagined a larry bird or Jordan coming off the bench? AI was the best little man in the game, and i dont blame him for not wanting to come of the bench......He didnt want to kiss the NBAs ass and he was thrown out. There are about 30 point guards id take AI over in the league NOW

Changed what rules..??? school me and are you serious..some of yall clowns dont understand Ai had a highschool mentality whats so hard about that to realize and understand

again school me on these.. allen iverson rules..

AI been acting a fool since HS... and people really acting like he was the definition of a good player because he can score?

They changed the way players dressed...brought more emphasis on palming and double dribbling calls, and they probably dont even let players have cornrows anymore on the low.

And its well know certain officials (steve javie, Tim donaghy just to name two) had it in for iverson those arent bonafide rule changes, but the refs are controlled by david stern and he knew of this behavior by his officials....what GREAT nba player has been treated the way iverson has.....mind you there have been woman beaters, rapists, alcoholics in this league

A.I. black balled himself. He could've been a cannon coming off the bench for a contender. He was too proud to realize that he wasn't the 6 foot nigga puttin' up 30 a game anymore.

Dude was a much better version of JR Smith or Ben Gordon

To all the iverson apologists these quotes says enough about his mentality

Every nba player wants to start....what would you think if your favorite player didnt want to start...The difference is AI earned his place in this league....

What player do you know with this resume would WANT to come off the bench?

NBA Most Valuable Player (2001)
NBA Rookie of the Year (1997)
11× NBA All-Star (2000–2010)
4× NBA scoring champion (1999, 2001–2002, 2005)
3× All-NBA First Team (1999, 2001, 2005)
3× All-NBA Second Team (2000, 2002–2003)
All-NBA Third Team (2006)
NBA All-Rookie First Team (1997)
2× NBA All-Star Game MVP (2001, 2005)

Would this be an issue if players like kobe, Tim duncan, Kevin garnett were asked to sit on the bench? helll yeah. So why is it so horrible is AI didnt want to?

Iverson is my favorite player of all time, but I don't know how anyone can defend the dude.

Regardless if he was blackballed or not, he has no one to blame but himself.

Not really agreeing or disagreeing with AIs thought process, im just saying most NBA players with his kind of success would have a hard time benching it, and maybe AI is hardheaded and stubborn, but i do think he could produce....people gotta realize that a coach couldve played him how larry brown did, but they tried to make him something he wasnt. But it is a team sport, so either fit on or keep it moving....but ive rarely seeen a player with his contributions done in this manner....But who knows maybe he had offers that just werent good enough for him...

Allen Iverson "how the hell am i gonna make my teamates better by practicing"

that right there sums AI mentality

to be honest i seen niggaz, like Vince Carter and Tracy Mcgrady both guys who were once Allstars , that were able to push there ego to the side, and come of the bench as there career faded.....

however allen isn't willing to do so he
falls into the Stephon Marbury Steve Francis category

Its not like the last few teams he played for were building around him though. Should the coach have to change his entire game plan because AI signed a 1 year deal?

Derrick Rose doesnt have that type of ego.. and his coaches loves his work ethic and willingness to learn.. and ultimately whether he win a ring or not he will be a winner.. and any team he leaves wont be better for it.
