I kind of feel you on Kanye post-Late Registration. IMO, that was the last album he made where the production had that "wow, this is ground breaking" factor to it. Since then, Kanye's pretty much channeled whom ever he was influenced by at the moment it seems. I don't think it's Kanye selling out, it's just him focusing more on being the greatest overall artist than being greatest producer.

I don't know how you can say that. He's clearly expanded beyond his comfort zone since LR and done different things, experimenting with new sounds, new instruments, and collaborating with different producers on his music. If he had stayed in that same zone I could see your point, but seeing as how he's done the opposite it doesnt make much sense to me.

I'm not talking about him stepping out of his comfort zone, I'm talking about Kanye the producer taking a beat seat to Kanye the artist. He just recently did an interview w/ MTV where they discussed his production. The way the article and some of the quotes are stated, it's like he thinks people forgot he was a producer.
