I smh @ people who try to compare Hov to Kanye. Go listen to albums like "Reasonable Doubt" or "American Gangster" and ask yourself if Ye could even dream of dropping verses like "Regrets" or EVEN "Feelin It". Kanye should be mentioned with rappers like T.I. and Rick Ross, NOT with the Jay-Z's, Nas's, or Eminems. And to niggas saying Ye is the better producer, why should that be factored in when Hov has never (to my knowledge) even attempted to produce? That's like saying Mike Vrabel is better than Ray Lewis because he makes plays on offense whereas Ray Lewis doesn't (Despite the fact Ray is the much better Linebacker).

I don't think anyone would deny that Jay Z is a better rapper than Kanye, but on the same token, one could say "ask yourself if Jay Z could even dream of dropping songs like "All Falls Down" or "Jesus Walks" let alone release songs like that as singles and they become hit records".

I won't say Yeezy is a better artist than Jay. There's some songs that Jay created that Yeezy could never dream of duplicating lyrically. Yeezy raps like a regular rapping nigga, who just good enough to not sound horrible, okay punchlines, okay flow, witty lines. His production, creativity, song concepts & overall aura/sound/package is his selling point. Hov on the other hand.......can & has spit shit that only Pun, Nas & AZ could kick. Its a whole different echelon my nigga.

What I will say about Yeezy & Jay........is Yeezy's career caught on alot faster than Hov's. Hov came out in 1996. Ain't really become a star til 1998. Even then, he shared the spotlight with Em, DMX & Ja. He aint really become "that dude" til 2001. Yeezy, however, blew up with College Dropout. And he's pretty much been a Superstar ever since then (from Jesus Walks to Golddigger to Stronger to Heartless to Power). If you compare Jay's first 5 albums & Yeezy's first 5 albums.....you'll see how much stronger Kanye's career looks. That's the only pro I could give Kanye.

Yep....Kanye's first album was supposed to be something like "Roc La Familia" where Cam, Bleek & Beans would've been on every song because they wanted to keep Kanye's dope beats but, aint think he could carry & market an album himself.
