There can be good arguments made on both sides of this issue honestly. IMO I think intent is a big determining factor in these situations. I think the age gap is looked at so critically because of a false sense of innocence we place on teenagers. This world is ridiculous and whether you want to admit it or not, there are boys and girls getting it in in middle school....

While that doesn't make it right, I think people's real issue is the fact that they think the younger of the two in a relationship like this is prone to being taken advantage of, which is why I said intent is important. People like to bring up how relationships like this were common back in the day, but you have to realize they were GETTING MARRIED....thats the key difference between then and now.

I know we have been conditioned to look at relationships like this as taboo, and I always liked older women anyway, but the problem REALLY is promiscuity and peoples fear of these young girls and boys (mainly girls) getting turned out before they "grow up" and get the opportunity to bust it open legally anyway lol. It all boils down to what is morally right, and that's subjective.
