If he was really well rounded he'd talk about African history, Asian History, the history of Latinos, the history of indigenous peoples, not just white people.
He makes references to white entertainers, what about James Brown, or Marvin Gaye, or Paul Robeson how often does he big up black legends in his raps or in interviews? He does here and there but not as much as he does white folks. At least he has not in his recent history.

What is it about Jay that causes people to debate with all feelings and assumptions rather than doing research and bringing facts? People get overzealous when criticizing him lol.
If anything, Jay has kept it realer than people give him credit for. I think artist like like Nas has displayed more questionable behavior throughout his career than Jay did. But I guess Nas's "image" or what people "perceive" that he stands for and the fact he's the underdog prevents him from getting nitpicked.
Jayz shitted on just about every nigga that helped him become who he is today. In the same breath he brags in every song about the circle of rich white folks he now hangs with. He writes all his raps about being more successful than us, while reminding black folks they'll never reach his status.
To sum it up he's corporate amerikaz go to nigga. Those rich crackaz know black folks ain't tryna hear whatever they tryna sell. So who better than good ol Jay to put it in a rap and make it "cool". He's basically a high priced puppet

If you look at how many passes this guy gets in the rap game, the fact you cant even say Reasonable dought was ahhight instead of a classic without jigga warriors coming in with the same tired bullshit in rebutals, the fact that Jay can bite lyrics, nigga name dropped plenty on his albums without catchin any of the heat The Game catch, gets gorified for shit Nas gets crucified over, got niggas actin like cant nobody outrap him on a song even tho Ye does it repeatedly, .....Come on man, for every 1 person that gives him criticism on this site you know there are 3 people ready to sweep it under the rug and dickryde his money, his marriage to Bey, his past sells like that matters if current shit is good or not, and just plain ol "call a nigga a hater when they cant refute nothing effectively" ass posters when they hero gets talked about. Niggas act like Jay z finna send them a check n shit. You can save that Jay gets a raw deal shit because niggas turn this shit into a jay z lifetime achievement award ceremony everytime somebody post something meh about what jay say or did.
I agree, overzealous fans are annoying and they can come off as irrational and difficult to have a civilized debate with. But tbh, I've never seen a thread where someone just said anything Jay made was just "aight", the criticism always seems to be in extremes filled with a lot of misinformation and it's like the OP never does their homework before posting, but there's a tone of conviction with their post and they come off as though what they say is fact.....and anyone who doesn't share their viewpoint is a "stan" or whatever. That's how it looks imo. Everything just seems to be in extremes lol. On that note, I do agree that Reasonable Doubt isn't a true classic just off the strength of the lack of impact it had in 96...but it's his best lyrical effort. You also mentioned that Jay bites lyrics, and that's another critic I don't get. Do people honestly believe that Jay is really trying to pass off those lyrics as his own? Why do people feel that way? I never heard anyone critique that about him until after Ether came out. Dude is smart enough to come up with his own quotes, hot lines, ghostwrite for others, and run successful businesses but he's somehow dumb enough to believe that he can pass off lines from famous songs as his own lol? Every artist in hip hop has quoted another rappers lyrics out of respect. The culture in general is built off sampling period. Jay get's quoted so much that it's crazy, but other rappers aren't under the same microscope I guess. Pac quoted Method Man and CL Smooth lyrics on All Eyes on Me ("I came to bring the pain, hardcore to the brain, lets go inside your gastroplane") ("2 years ago, a friend of mine told me Alize and Cristal blows your mind"). Snoop redid and entire Slick Rick song on Doggy Style, Biggie quote Slick Rick on the Hypnotize chorus. I understand a lot of the other criticism about dude to an extent, but not the whole "he's stealing lyrics" thing. What is the definition of biting, because I've seen stuff that was labeled as biten while a similar act gets a pass.
Game's style is just annoying to me lol, I don't think he's a biter, he name drops because he's a fan of the "the game", hence his name is "Game", but his first album was OD annoying to me because he name dropped back to back in every verse on every single track. That's his style though.

the same way you feel about jay z biting being stupid is the same way i feel about the namedroppin when other people do it. Like jow you feel like game do it excessively is how i feel about what jay does with biggie lyrics. yeah other artist have used other peoples joints as influential but Jay does it overboard with the biggie stuff and like you said, he should be smarter than that to have to keep the crap up from album to album, Nigga you big uped ya brotha already over and over! Reasonable being his best lyrical effort(which i think is also debatable but whatever, for the sake of argument ill let that be) Still shouldnt make it a classic. Canibus had sick lyrics too when 2000 bc dropped but yall didnt let him get away wit just ill spits but wack beats, why does jay get away with it? because he got to be the biggest rapstar out? Is that why niggas can revise history when it comes to Jay? I dont think Jay gets judged too extrem at all on this site. I think he gets coddled. like a lil baby on here. And Im not tryna hate, ive been on record callin blueprint and black album a classic and a very good 4 1/2 mic joint. i dont hate the guy, I just think not everything the guy has said and done careerwise has been condonable or dope

It was almost like "damn my dude, I just had a daughter too and I feel what you were saying now".
At least that's how I took it.

This makes total sense .... It's probably why he infused biggies actual vocals on this album so people would know without a shadow of doubt that he is the true originator of those rhymes...this furthering his impeccable standing with these youngins
.......................oh wait
