In my opinion being dope doesn't just mean your nice with a pen. Provoking thought in the mind is always dope. But making the body move is almost just as praise worthy. I like to go out and drink, listen to some music, and dance. In that environment I want to enjoy myself, let go of the world. That's where a less thought provoking artist could get played. That's where his energy pause is worth more than his pen. Nobody would want to hear Jay Elec or MF Doom at a family reunion less alone a club/party scene. I know there's lanes. I respect the artist for the lane that they chose and how they perform in it
