And just because a nigga is dope lyrically doesn't mean they'll automatically be dope in a battle. 50 Cent pulled the skirts of a lot of niggas he went at who were great lyricists just off the strength of the ammo he had on them (baby mother problems, paying for jewellry, being in debt to old bosses, being phoney, wifing hoes, etc. etc.), look at Nas & Jay-Z nobody doubts that Jay is one of the best to do it lyrically but when he battled Nas and even Dipset his responses were terrible. I don't know who would win between the 2 but if I were a betting man I'd prolly put change on Kendrick.

Yall gotta keep in mind also - that Drake doesn't write his own songs (go and look at the credits for writers on albums and tell me I'm lying). There's nothing wrong with that, but keep that in mind when making comparisons. Drake will tell you that he has a lot of help with people writing songs for him. Not trying to discredit Drake cuz he can get down but I'm just pointing out a fact.

It never dawned on you how he's able to get these star studded line ups for his albums, or why he was hanging out with writers at award shows ? Why you think he's signing producers and writers like PARTYNEXTDOOR ? If my sophomore album had grammy award winning writers writing for me I'd be confident in my ability to win grammies not just cuz the song is dope but cuz they can pull strings too. Never underestimate the politics of the game. Drake kills records that he features on cuz he can go right off the dome but for his albums, let's keep it honest - he doesn't write the majority of his songs...

There's nothing wrong with that IMO, if you ask me it's a good trade off and a nice way to thrive. At least you know most of his albums are going to be well constructed.

Having looked at those links (wikipedia, which isn't a reliable source in the first place) Im pretty sure they gave their input on the record, and not actually wrote his lyrics for him... I think they were involved in the recording process and gave suggestions, but i don't think they actually wrote his verses, and he's said in the past he likes to be in the studio with the producers to capture the vision and intended feel for the song.
