Drake is A dope rapper man..But I don't think his style translates in A battle setting...Kendrick's style does tho..His Aggressive approach,The way he flips his bars ,and arsenal of different flows gives me every reason to believe he'd wash Drake in A battle..

Of course they not gay ass super fans, but they're really fans...

ok.

now.

keep up with me here...

their online personas are super fans that speak in hashtags and exclaim with glee anything having to deal with the camp right?

ok...

how many niggas have begun to feel comfortable acting the same way this past year?

it's sad that there are male superfans on this forum that are close to being that damn bad.

None that I can think of...

They not writin his verses...With the exception of some of the straight r&b shit...Ain't nobody writin his raps, and it ain't like he can't write a hook...So yeah, other people contribute but that don't mean he just talentless...He's still gonna rap better than a lotta niggas...

^^^ co-sign @a1000miles...I'm sure he's got ppl that contribute towards the structure of song and intended vision for final product and providing some input, but I'm also sure they not writing his verses for him...and talking about writing, he wrote Alicia Keys - unthinkable and Jamie foxx - fall for your type, both r'nb records so let's not distort and project and image act like he on some Dr Dre shit, when he even writes hits for other ppl, smh. @Sion you might as well label every rapper in the same vain based on that description.

Music Producers, musicians playing instruments and any samples used all get writer credits. Its 2014 how folks not know this?

woooo lookit all the tears!

face it.

your golden boy will never be in a unrehearsed cypher.

your favorite rapper is a cherry picking sissy.

When the last time you seen a big name rapper truly spit off the dome. Not a written verse they memorized but just straight making shit up as they go along? Shit the only rappers I've seen go off the dome are the one's people readily admit are garbage lol. Most of the best rappers "freestyle" pre written shit

Common

Drake 's lyricall talent is most of the time overshadowed by the R&B thing and his way of communicating.

nigga always on his DRIZZIS ( new slang for strong soft feelings )

LOLOL the truth hurts @MillzMcCaine

Kanye wrote Find Your Love & Show Me a Good Time, Jay wrote Light Up, Alicia Keys and her team helped too hence the RnB theme (no typo btw). You think you getting a star studded first album b/c of a Wayne cosign w/o them getting their cut ? LOLOLOLOLOL
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thank_Me_Later#Track_listing

The Weeknd and PARTYNEXTDOOR (uncredited for some records) wrote most of the songs on Take Care
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Take_Care_(album)#Track_listing

Even on NWTS
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nothing_Was_the_Same#Track_listing

It never dawned on you how he's able to get these star studded line ups for his albums, or why he was hanging out with writers at award shows ? Why you think he's signing producers and writers like PARTYNEXTDOOR ? If my sophomore album had grammy award winning writers writing for me I'd be confident in my ability to win grammies not just cuz the song is dope but cuz they can pull strings too. Never underestimate the politics of the game. Drake kills records that he features on cuz he can go right off the dome but for his albums, let's keep it honest - he doesn't write the majority of his songs...

There's nothing wrong with that IMO, if you ask me it's a good trade off and a nice way to thrive. At least you know most of his albums are going to be well constructed.

@Sion...You may not fuck with Drake but you know damn well this post is bullshit. There's a huge difference in producers and the artists writing the song together vs. what you're openly implying in that Drake has had other people literally write entire songs/verse for him. It's not abnormal for the producer or someone else to write a hook or help the artists structure the song hence why they would get a writing credit but it don't mean they wrote the entire song for the artists. Nearly every artists gets beats/songs sent to them with the hook already on it. Don't stretch shit just for ethers and reactions. You a better poster than that

As I said - there's nothing wrong with having songwriters write songs for you. I already clarified that when he does records that he features on where he can come off the top of the dome he NAILS it. Game, Ross, Wayne, Kanye, Eazy E had writers for album tracks so why is it a problem if Drake does it ? When it comes to his album tracks he has people writing for him, there's nothing wrong with that. It ensures he's always gonna have well constructed albums. But let's be honest here, The Weeknd, and PartyNextDoor wrote Take Care fam & if we gonna compare the 2 rappers that needs to be taken into consideration of who's the better MC.

So you're saying The Weeknd and PartyNextDoor wrote Drake's rhymes on Underground Kings, Look What You've Done, Take A Shot For Me, HYFR We'll Be Fine, The Ride, Lord Knows and the other songs? Like I said it's one thing to say they wrote the hooks and helped structure the songs, but when you say they wrote the album like you're saying then that includes those raps too, which means they writing those bars. That's a whole different thing.

lets also add that just because someone writes some of your songs does not mean you are not capable of returning the favor it happens all the time in the industry where songs will be written with others in mind and reciprocation occurs based on the chemistry. kats are up in arms with the idea that some of Drakes work may not be written by him and want to argue he writes for others not understanding the game. Mike Jackson is a great example of a songwriter who wrote for others and also preformed songs written for him and again there are innumerable examples that could be brought up. Good Posts on this subject on your part...

No...None of his raps are written by someone else...We admitted some of the full r&b stuff I.E. "Find Your Love"...Was pre written and he got it...But his primary art, which is rap, is all him...And then folk like the Weeknd and PND contribute hooks, adlibs, and backgrounds...

SO are you doing production work behind the scenes and speaking from actual personal Knowledge or just ranting as a fan???

I'm speaking from the perspective of someone who's been in the studio with XO niggas, and some of Drake engineers...And someone who's a fan and listens to his interviews...Sooooooo....Yeah.
