Took multiple listens for me to realize this is a great album, now I can't stop playing it (in before I'm "forcing myself to like it"). This is a story telling album and you gotta pay attention to the lyrics and concepts. Skimming through it looking for a banger on your first listen doesn't cut it.

Once you catch all that's going on with it and get to the end of the song 4 Your Eyez Only a few times:

I stand by my co sign.Y'all trippin. Cole's album isn't even fit to be my weed plate.

Started off decent, but once the concept is fully understood it becomes a great album for me.

Concept albums are hard to pull off, especially when your not pretending to be someone else.

Last great concept album was Jay - AG and that was shitted on when it first dropped.

Although he is telling the story from his friends POV, it's still Cole.

And when you think about his friend daughter becoming old enough to fully take this in...it's one of the greatest gifts he could ever give to her on behalf of her father...a timeless gift. This alone makes it great for me.

I'm a father to a son and and a daughter, and I know that a daughter would see this as a more precious gift than a son.

Its not Great to me but its more than decent.

Deja Vu

She's Mine 1

Foldin Clothes

are the tracks that are bringing it down for me.

But the other tracks are great

Cole is my dude, one of my fav rappers out right now, but this album wasn't all that. It can get monotonous and a lil boring.

I respected his no features on FHD that was hot and refreshing in comparison to the industry now, but he needed to mix it up this time. I think a couple of features would have brought the change of pace and energy that the album needed to be great.

Also no false prophets, or everybody dies smh

I've sat with this album on and i only listen to about 3 tracks (Neighbors, 4 your eyez only, and Deja Vu). Production was just bland as fuck to me. If dude was rhyming on some of Joey Badass type production it would be better. Dude has a monotonous type voice and beats that don't knock.
